Zero didn't die. He still live in our heart and childhood memory. Years later the fanbase may decline but those who have followed him in his journey know well. He is immortal in the cyberspace.

Don't forget about the song "Clover" from MMZ2 where it sings about how Zero feels like he's breaking down completely emotionally, he cannot remember why only that it has something to do with the name of a _flower_ .

I denied Zero's death until I saw his broken helmet and I accept his death just like X"s death

accepting zeros death is accepting the series is ended, which is a good thing, that way the game can't be tarnished, it ended on a good note, most game companies push and push for sequels to a game till its no longer good, let's just be glad that didn't happen to Zero.

Every time I see this ending I can't help but feel my heart break for Ciel. The way she cries during the credits chokes me up.

One of the greatest endings of all time. A lot of sacrifices end up feeling hollow and for dramatic purposes only, but this one legitimately feels tragic. A lot of them feel like "of course they killed them off, that's what they had to do" but people still argue that Zero's still alive and honestly I think that's the mark that they did it right

There was a planned sequel to ZX advent and there is zero proof that model Z died. That and many of the models are hardy mothercluckers

Megaman - All fine and dandy til "I AM MORE THAN A MACHINE! DIE WILY!", still more adult than one would assume. Megaman X - More than half the world's population die by the end of it. Megaman Zero - Post Apocalyptical. Megaman ZX - The world is rebuilding itself.

Personally Things MIGHT have been much better in the World if Rock made that move and SHOT wily We wouldn't have gotten 1 of the best characters in the franchise(zero) but sometimes that's the price u gotta pay. Frfr I don't blame megaman for it, bro fought wily 7 times and killed dozens of his bros. I'd wanna end wily too😂 I'd say X didn't really get bad till sigma NUKED shit in X5. THEN humans were in real jeopardy. Sure he crashed a flying city on top of another city but that's just a city, Eurasia basically screwed the PLANET up and forced humans underground. Which makes little sense to me as the good ending focuses on Eurasia actually being destroyed, it can't be the bad ending because Zero never went maverick and X still remembers Zero in X6 so Dr Light never erased his memory. The zero series was DEFINITELY post apocalyptic And Zx ends with the world being FLOODED and setting up for legends😂 It's big oofs across the board lol

If you think about it, this pretty much wraps up the main Mega Man's canon in terms of story chronologically speaking (if I'm not mistaken the Classic series, X series and Zero series are all part of the same canon in that order and happens with a century of gap between one and the other right? ).... quite a dramatic way to end the chronological story of this franchise, but great nonethless (I know that there is the ZX series but, I prefer to consider it just an extra than a continuation, I think the ending of Zero 4 is the PERFECT wrap up for the story of the franchise and I prefer it to stay that way). It quite reminds me of MGS4 which concluded the Metal Gear's story chronologically in a great way, albeit dramatically as well(althought not at the levels of Mega Man of course). Frankly, I prefer things always go in this way, so the stories of franchises could get the endings they deserve while their properties could still make games for them that happens in the past (like MGSV happening between Peace Walker and Metal Gear and the upcoming Mega Man 11 happening of course between Mega Man 10 and Mega Man X) and if the games don't come out well we can just pretend they never happened and consider all we got first in release order from the beginning to the end.

***** No Charisma... Grey is a boy thrown into the world and doesn't even know who he is, but wants to help everyone how he can while discovering about himself. Ashe is a kickass bounty hunter with a good heart and strong will for getting whatever she wants. Every Pseudoroid has its motivation and the quality for the characters from ZX to ZXA is the same, also the same quality for the Zero series, except the plot isn't so dark. The Map System is only bad in ZX one and you don't even analyze the VA, just say it's bad because everyone does. Don't like some of the voices? Play in japanese. It's about teens getting the power of Legendary Heroes, what did you want? Saint Seiya? Meh. You're just being hater without truly solid arguments, only hollow opinions about some random stuff that isn't really bad for most people, statistics over singular opinions. No, really, Megaman ZX is extremely well-made, people saying it's not like X and ZX is pure fanboyism, it's Megaman exactly like it! Also Megaman ZX has the smoothest gameplay(and with more options overall. More options, more fun. If you don't use them, it's not the game's fault) from all of platforming the series, just you know.

I'd like to put a stop to this in a friendly manner. You two aren't going to see things eye to an eye. I can understand Leon's perspective even if I don't agree to it, since I personally found the ZX series to re-invigorate the Mega Man franchise with fresh breath, but if you don't like it then well, too bad really. Now if you like the ZX series, I do happen to have a challenge run that I'm working on featuring using only Model Px on my channel as well ( _I'm working very slowly on this one_ ), so check that one out!

i was one of the people that thought zero was still alive.....but after a while i accepted it....zero died to save everyone. he knew what would happen but he still gave his life up to save everyone....he died a hero's death.

That was what did it for me. I broke down in tears when I saw his helmet. When I saw that in 2005, I knew he was dead.

I totally agree with you Zeithri. This ending was sad, but a great ending. I, and many others, just like you grew up with the game. I remember when I first play a MM game I was 6 at that time. Now I'm 20, just a long time, but it was fast, too. Sometimes, the memories just flow to me...

You know, I just realized something... Ciel's hairstyle in the last scene looks a lot like Zero's Ponytail in the X-Series, pre Zero-Series That has to be the biggest "Iris who?" moment

I have not seen a single comment yet that remarked on how you were one second away from losing. Getting a last second victory is now canon in my mind, and you can't change it. Just like Zero being dead... Seriously, this ending wraps up everything up to this point perfectly, marking an end to an era in the canon(Before ZX started the next one.)

The funny thing is, Zero in X5 more or less survives a fall back to earth from space, but here he doesnt, and I think it's for multiple reasons. 1. MmX Zero was inside a rocket part that protected him from the heat of re entry, it was just surviving the fall he had to do. 2. X Zero wasnt fighting b4 that, he prolly had a few minutes to collect himself b4 going into the rocket 3. X series Zero supposedly has a stronger body, although with Scaling, Z zero should be more durable 4. Z zero was fighting alone against the enemies, and finishing off weil probably took a lot out of him. He was caught in the blast that destroyed ragnarok, that definitely knocked some pieces loose, and the fall back to earth was what finished him. The guy/gal playing this being at low health fits, as I think Zero wouldve been on his last legs fighting weil, but still been able to win, however it comes at the cost of not being able to survive the explosion OR the fall to earth. R.i.p my boi🤧

Poor Zero. He's just so good at dying. Even before he was a playable character his job was to die dramatically (and then get Deus Exed in the next game). Hopefully Ciel saved a copy of him to download into a new body, since that's apparently a thing, now (thank you Z3)! Seriously, does death mean nothing in anime? "It's fine, Goku. We'll just bring you back for the umpteenth time!" , "Not a problem, Yugi! The Shadow Realm doesn't actually kill anyone" , "Don't worry, Inu Yasha! I'll just reincarnate in a century." I think Simon from Fairy Tail was the only anime character to ever bother staying dead.

When my friend showed me DBZ of which he loves and I just aren't that interested in, I made a joke about how death is insignificant in that world seemingly. Let's not forget, " _Yamcha's here! Yamcha's dead!_ " meme. But if you want a world where death carries meaning, look no fruther than more dramatic pieces like Mobile Suit Gundam 0079, Ghost in the Shell, Space hmhmmh Ideon, and I would assume Space Battleship Yamato. Record of Lodoss War is also a setting of which Death is preferable to avoid ending up in. Of course then there's Gundam Seed Destiny where there's a reason the main character is called 'Kira Jesus Yamato', but in Lodoss War, only very strong magic can bring back the dead as we see in the Dreamcast game were the Great Sage Wort uses The Wand of Life and the Crystal Ball of Souls to bring back 'an old friend'.

He dies so many times that it started to lose its impact as we all eventually were like “oh well, give him a few weeks). Taking the entire series he dies in X1, can potentially die in X3, dies in X5, sometime before the zero series (that’s why passy had to revive him) and at zero 4. Zero 4 handles his death the best because it gives finality and closure making sure that he is dead

*wall of text warning ⚠️ * Not many really stop and see how poetic and tragic at the same time this whole ending is. Death, destruction and wars spawned by an old, bitter man who started as envious and and later driven insane because of a small blue robot, with his reputation going down the sink. What did the man do? He created the ultimate killing machine with one singular goal and a devastating countermeasure, he wanted to have the last laugh at any cost. And look at how things turned out. The killing machine managed to surpass the little blue robot, defying the very same laws of robotics he had to obey (remember that zero is still more of a robot master than anything else) unlike the one he was built to kill, and the the legacy of the old man's rival ended in misery The killing machine became the greatest hero and then, silence. Sorry for the wall of text, If you read it all I salute you sir/ma'am/nb friend, have a good day 👋

Only to find out in megaman legends that all that crap that killing machine went through was for nothing, As the humans eventually died off anyway. So doctor light's dream of humans and robots/Reploids coexisting in peace was just a simple fantasy in the grand scheme of things.

Lived as a warrior, died as a hero...

Don't worry Ciel, Zero isn't dead. In our hearts, we all know that he is merely hiding himself while repairing himself.

Zero greatest power is dying all the time

And in the end....it was Doctor Wily that made the greatest hero to mankind and reploids...Zero

After a long ass hiatus, I finally managed to finish the Zero quadrilogy and man was it intense from start to finish. Can’t wait to see what ZX and Advent have in store!

I personally love ZX. Advent I haven't really played that much, got stuck. But it's very interesting. Main gripe is that if you want to play hard mode, you must completed first with one, then the other, and now you have Hard mode unlocked. Ugh.

Honestly it was hard to accept Zero’s death simply because he already died twice. Honestly I just expected him to come back and probably spout once more “I hid myself while I repaired myself”

They were created based on their personalities, so while X and Zero aren’t exactly Model X and Model Z, they were the basis for the two Biometal’s power and personality

When I saw this for the first time, I couldn't believe it, but it was true. Zero did die after defeating Weil and destroying Ragnarok. It was the only way to protect Area Zero. True that he lived on again as a Biometal in the ZX era, but what became of him after ZX Advent, no one knows.

I was so excited to finish this game that I didn't sleep until 12:00 (I was 10 and its 2010 its abnormal to not sleep before 9), my aunt got mad and took the gameboy at the exact time i finished the boss, more than a decade it terrorist me not seeing the ending not realizing I can just watch it on KZread 😅

I don't expect so many new comment around. I love this game so much, zero is true hero.

Such a great series. It ended so well. I'm glad it got a successor, ZX. I own the Artbook and all Soundtracks. Capcom still has a chance to give this series a remake.

Zero could enter there because Omega's energy, being so similar to the Dark Elf's, opened a rift in cyberspace when he arrived on Earth, they explain it multiple times in Z3, also, the rift was closed once Omega was gone and the Dark Elf became the Mother Elf again.

I legit searched this because I’ve been thinking about it, like I beat this and still can’t get over it. Man, this was an awesome series and a bittersweet way to end it. My feels.

god i remember how much i cried with this,to this very day is the only game that TRULLY made me cry quite a bit,i hope one day CAPCOM will make a remake of the Zero games,they deserve it with no doubt

ds collection kinda with the mod chips that already existed as e-reader cards it made them more accessable

In my opinion, no one would be able to survived from falling from space to earth, I know it is really hard to ascept but you guys have to know one thing,zero is dead and that is the end of story on mega man zero series.....

I just beat this game and still make me sad

Now I’m convinced that Zero and Shadow the Hedgehog are the same character since they both have similarities for some reason.

I've loved the Mega Man Zero games since I was a kid. I played them again recently and man this ending hurts. zero is easily my favorite character and seeing him die hurts a little bit

Strangely enough though, in the official complete works book for the Megaman Zero series, Zero is stated to be missing rather then dead. Something about the picture though is that the shadow for his saber has the blade at the top, yet you don't see anything in the picture that matches the shadow. The silhouette looks too skinny to be the blade for the Z -saber sticking up or stuck in the ground. Although in the end, it depends on whether you believe he is dead or alive.

Zero died without saying a proper goodbye, any hero's welcome that he truly deserves....

After centuries of struggling and constant battle Zero found peace...

It's that last note. You might hold it together during the credits, but that last note and the helmet will always get you.

"Hey guys we killed zera in mmz4. Now there wont be a mmz5!" -Capcom MegaMan ZX comes out and zero is alive as biometal. ARE YOU SURE CAPCOM?

Wanna know something that makes this worse. Ciel could easily rebuild a perfect replica of Zero like she did with Copy X, but she never does because it wouldn’t be her Zero.

Even a new Zero was rebuilt, he wouldn't have the memories and the personality the original Zero had. The same thing happened with Copy X who became evil because he didn't hace his own Dr Light to guide him like X

This isn’t just the conclusion of the zero series, it’s the conclusion of the conflict started between two scientists specialized in robotics all those centuries ago

Thanks for the compliment. I just don't have much energy left to keep doing videos. After how long I've been here, I found myself thinking: How long am I going to keep doing this really, when so few of my new videos every get any good views. It's such an uphill battle.

I'm sad he's not coming back but i think this just means that this game also shows more drama and actual sorrow Thanks capcom, we couldn't have asked for a better childhood

The first and unfortunately last time a video game has ever made my cry.

I love the Megaman series, but what makes me sad is that my favourite character (Zero) keeps dying. They keep killing him! T_T

I just finished this game, I wasn’t i expecting it get this emotional. One of best sagas in gaming

What really cements it is the music.

Rip Zero, He & X we’re the Dynamic duo

When I watch the ending each time, I feel depressed ;_;

Came to see if the end credits had the vocals in the english version or not, after just beating the jp version on the gameboy player without having to go replay the whole game on the legacy collection or something. sadly it looks like they were cut completely.

this felt like the last cowboy bebop episode and some people are still in the stage of denial, r.i.p Zero

I loved the Mega Man Zero saga, although I hope Zero and Ciel can see each other again in some other game, and FINALLY live in peace with Zero and X, but I feel like thats too much to ask lol

Whos here just to watch an old youtube video on an old game? Also whoever wants MMZ5 to happen is annoying. Id rather see a Megaman Battle Network 7 happen with an adventure focusing around Lan’s kid and his navi

Zero is implied to die for good in this game to make a zero 5 would kinda ruin this ending

Right next to the light That was Ciel I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, MEGA MAN X ...AND MEGA MAN ZERO. REST IN PEACE...

Zero's been killed a couple of times already in past games and he's come back to life in some way, so I doubt he's gone for good. On top of this Inafune-sama has more than expressed an interest in making a sequel to all the Mega Man games (hence MegaMan 9), and I know he means the Zero series as well. So unless Inafune-sama himself says Zero's gone for good in that timeline, no one can say Zero's dead for sure.

All heros die. Because need to sacrifice himself for save the world

Honestly the closest a video game ending has gotten me to crying, as a guy who hasn't cried since November 2021.
