The reason being that there's no Hollywood involvement, zero corporate meddling, no third-party "expert" deciding how to market this movie or how the trailers should be. Francis Ford Coppola financed the whole movie himself, from start to finish and has full creative control, down to the trailers. Hell, there isn't even an US distribution partner yet, precisely because everyone is too chicken to invest on an unsafe bet. It's not your run-of-the-mill, by-the-numbers movie, and that's too scary.

Art can't be snuffed out! We need it! Being denied it for a time only makes us want it more when we finally see it again.

This is the first trailer I see in 2024 that got my attention. Adam Driver and Francis Ford Coppola. This will be great.

What a novel idea: let a single partial scene that gives a taste of the film spark interest, but otherwise leave us without much of anything else that, in knowing, would take away from the eventual movie viewing experience. This should be done more often - count me fully interested!

@@FritzLabern I was being a bit sarcastic - nevertheless, not many teasers involve selecting a well-chosen scene that manages to intrigue while not spoiling anything. Most teasers that say little fail to spark my personal interest - they often amount to little more than just some visual and audio tonal elements that give the most basic feel of what a film is going to be aiming for. So I beg to differ - I found this teaser trailer to be both relatively and effective.

Exactly right, that's what I had intended with the minor sarcasm in my comment. It's not actually new, but it feels novel based on what we've been getting from bigger movies lately (that so often seem to want to give us the entire movie in abridged format). What is old is new again, right?

He spent over 120 million of his own cash. he's rewrote the script like 300 times in the past 40 years he literally explained how no one wanted to finance the movie because of how nuts the plot is so he put up over a quarter of his own net worth to finance the movie.

Coppola is the walking embodiment of the sentiment "should have quit while you were ahead."

Now THATS a trailer. Appreciate the confidence in the concept. Looking forward to this.

I know this has been regarded as one of the 'greatest movies never made' forever, so happy to see it finally see it realized, Coppola has always said this would be his masterpiece.

I have to say, the trailer did spark my interest. I literally thought he was gonna just and then he stopped time with just a snap of his fingers. That had me going woah! So yeah, big fan of Adam and seeing more about this film. I’ve always found that the films you know next to nothing about end up turning out to be more enjoyable than you thought.

I can understand why some of you would feel that this preview doesn’t peak your interest, with that being said, with just the short one scene showing some type of super natural element, the actor who is in the scene, and most importantly of all you see that this is a film that has Francis Ford Coppola behind. With these 3 different elements all converging together is what really peaks my interest.

Considering most movie trailers these days, show most of the movie in 2.50min, this was old style,that leaves you guessing, like it a lot!

Can't lie just looking at this made me hold my breath, I'm excited to see something different and new. With this legendary Director I'm interested in seeing this art. I'm seeing mixed reviews yet I want to see it myself and see what I walk away with.

Adam Driver acting on this scene is amazing. His eyes, reactions, fear. We can see everything going through his mind. Also the sound effects, music, create an absolutely powerful scene. Its been a really long time i feel this interested in a movie.

Seriously. An original script directed by an auteur film maker instead of a rehashed IP or played out sequels. I also love the fact that the entire plot isn't spoiled in the trailer. This trailer shows just enough to get me interested and want to see more. I'm definitely in. Hopefully it's good, but I'm sure it will be.

The danger of having the ability to stop time is the next time when you really need to stop time, it does not stop. Conversely, the next snap of your finger may not resume the flow of time. So how much risk are you willing to take? To not have time save you from danger and death or having to spend an eternity with nothing changes. At least with 3 wishes, you know exactly your limit.

I like the part where he yells "time stop!" in a very strange way so that the audience of complete slathering worms understand what happened when we see the clouds stop moving and the cars stop moving. I think that's the most elegant and artistic way to communicate something surreal to an audience: just have a character awkwardly yell a non-grammatic sentence fragment that spells it out for us so we can roll our tongues back up, tuck them in our mouths change out our bib to a dry one and understand the rest of the movie while we pick earwax with our fingers in our greasy seats.

I can't believe I'm going to see another Coppola movie. This has got me hyped.

A movie directed by francis coppola and with adam driver the lead actor ... no doubt willbe one of the best movies of the year

I like that the silver and art deco style of the building is clearly a nod to 1927's Metropolis.

My first thought after the trailer finished was - this trailer doesn't tell me F all about this movie, WTF?!! My second thought was - Great! This is how trailers should be done.

The last time I was this early, Tucker had a dream. It’s finally happening! After 20+ years of speculation! I’m there! Although it is odd to wait this long for a trailer showing Adam Driver going full shonen. Never go full shonen.

Remind me of god of war 4 reveal in E3 2016 , it was made by mature developer and from the beginning for not showing to much it still tell you that the story will be masterclasses just like this teaser.

It's the real Adam Driver after seeing what they did to his character in SW chapter 9.

So, from this trailer one could imagine that the character is in a dream, or an alternate reality. Or he is discovering he is a superhero, an alien, that he is a God of some sort. I believe that this "International Trailer" is a good tease, but a snippet of other scenes in a full trailer will be needed to show us if there is more for us to be invested in. They don't need to give away too much but at least give us an idea of what we would be stepping into. An example of this is the recent series on AppleTV called Sugar. It stars Colin Farrell, Amy Ryan, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and James Cromwell. I saw the trailer and thought, "Cool! A noire detective series with Colin Farrell." It didn't give away much at all. Detective hired to find missing daughter of wealthy Hollywood producer. I start watching the series and it has a really different feel to it. There is the central mystery and yet there's also another mystery of the central character. Then WOOOSH! the genre flips us on our head.

All I know is that Francis Ford Coppola had a difficult time producing this movie. causing extreme psychological distress to him. We already know that it will be among the all-time greats.

Adam Driver has been choosing the movies he's in carefully. And so far for better and worst he's succeeded in leaving his mark.
