After 15 years and 3 daughters, my wife cheats and moves out. Leaves us stranded in her hometown 500 miles from any friends or family. I can really feel these lyrics like a noose around my neck. I want out. I can't because I have kids but I really want to just end this for me. Megadeth really helps me at times and other times its like a knife in my heart.

six and a half years ago i wanted to end it for me too, i didn't, went through disgusting harsh times. i've become so strong(without being an asshole or hurt anyone) i become so powerful that when last year the same thing happened AGAIN i put all behind me in a week. 6 years ago i lost 40+ lbs in 19 days (i know it sounds ridiculous so i leave it there), last year i just didn't shave for 10 days. METAL SAVED ME. "if you are depressed you are living the past, if you are anxious are living the future be present so be calm" THE ONLY IMPORTANT THING NOW IS YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTERS. i can not emphasize enough. the girls need you, you need them. get to know them, be their best friend. nothing even comes close to how important this is. are could be blessed since you have 3 daughters, take great care of them. BE NOW. best wishes to you and your family. KEEP ROCKIN'

MissieKBear um Ozzy is a legend for sure and most definitely the prince of darkness but id consider Tony Iomi to be the God but Dave is my favorite guitarist and Megadeth will always be my favorite band.

I love Dave's vocal style and lyrics. Original yet relatable.

Stop the hate and enjoy the music. Metallica and Megadeth are equally as amazing.

I’m sorry. I lost my daughter last Halloween eve. And it hits hard. I wish it had been me. She was very sick and I had to make the call. No parent should ever go through this. In a perfect world right now I should be checking if she’s sleeping. Instead I’m drinking crown and trying to push the feelings back down. I’m so sorry that happened to you. Life’s a terrible bitch.

"Your eyes tell me who you think you are" DROP THE ATTITUDE OMG

The song is about the protagonist feeling alone and abandoned by his partner during his darkest hour. He reaches out for help, but she doesn't offer any support. He feels like no one cares about him and thinks about death as a release. He reflects on his life, how much he did for his partner, but she turned away from him. He is consumed by pain, and he yearns for his partner to hold him again, but she just laughs at him. The protagonist acknowledges that time will pass and everything will come to an end, including their relationship.

This is my own interpretation about the song. Of course it is about a love relationship. Diana's break up could influenced a lot this song. But as I see it, it happens the same effect with the Cliff's death. What if Dave is singing like he was Cliff, in his moments between life and death. The love could be to anything, Art, Music, Metallica, Megadeth, a girlfriend or to life. Life can be very disappointing sometimes. In those times, we feel in our darkest hour...

Don't wanna be "that guy", but there's a few lyric issues. Great song though. Hung back stage with 'em in '99. Friedmans last show! Ellefson was cool to my mom.

Steve Sullivan Well it's amazing we even got this song in the first place. That was back in his drug fueled days. It's a wonder he could even stand upright much less write songs and play guitar. It's also amazing that the song even makes any sense at all. Ever try writing while really wasted? Usually the words are gibberish. Wish I had seen them with Friedman and yeah Ellefson always comes across as a really nice guy. So glad the two of them made up because they both are Megadeth. Just not the same without Ellefson around. He was there from day one and has really been the only person to stick by Dave's side, except for that brief time lol. Still, a good friend is hard to come by so I'm glad they patched things up. Plus when you've been through that much with somebody then that tends to bring you closer. They both lived through some crazy stuff and it's a wonder they both didn't burn out on all the drugs. Glad they're still around making music together.

Dyer's Eve has some pretty strong lyrics, but I think this one is more... sad? In a way. Dyer's Eve is more aggressive, and about bad parents and stuff. This one is about Cliff's death... A song with better lyrics than this one would be Disposable Heroes. I think that song lyrically is superior, same with Welcome Home, Blood Of Heroes... but I guess it's more or less subjective. Let's just enjoy these songs

I hate how much I can relate to this, When I was 13, There was this girl I was madly in love with once Things were fine the first 3 weeks of knowing her, But 13 year old me cried about her not showing up to youth club on the 4th week, The 5th week onwards, she was absolutely horrible to me behind my back, Things were fine until about 5 weeks of knowing her where she started Talking trash, Intentionally trying to upset me, Manipulating me with lies and even lying to me about being single, I once asked her out she said she'd think about it but put me down 'gently' in the end (I bet she was satisfied rejecting me), I can't believe I fell for all of that, We finally stopped talking when I was 14, Hated her for a while, and then at 15, started talking again as 'friends', But then a few months later she cut me off for no reason, I knew nothing of this until he told me, But a friend of mine sent her a very rude, disgusting and offensive joke, I was pretty shocked he thought that was okay to send her, but why cut me off If I didn't do anything?, What a horrible person, I felt she would've been the only one for me, But now am more desperate for a girlfriend than ever, But thanks to COVID, I can't mingle! And I'm in college and 17 now. But back to the point, This song perfectly describes my feelings and experience with that horrible 'human' being. Broke my heart and left me crawling. And we never even went out, Probably for the better though, I don't talk to her anymore and will never make that mistake again, Thank you for actually taking the time to read this
