Probably my favorite track of theirs of all time. Killer riffs, awesome drumming, amazing solos, and perfect lyrical material for a speedmetal song: no politics, just the adrenaline of skydiving.

They were so exceptional, it sounds right off the record, but you can still tell it's live. Also, the drummer is just ahead of the beat, which is perfect. I don't know how he does it at this tempo with all the breaks, but it and they are amazing.

This is way faster than the record but Nick was always jacked up on the first few Megadeth tours he was on , I love his energy there’s footage of him playing Rust in Peace and he’s standing up every chance he got. Also check out their Woodstock 99 performance they sound incredible there and Dave’s voice is good. They were so tight even by Megadeth standards they never had any slouches but this version right here will always be my favorite. Dirk and Kiko are incredible and the best Megadeth line up we will ever get again they are the only players that are up there with Nick, Gar, Poland, and Friedman. Marty will always be my second favorite Megadeth guitarist next to Dave but damn Kiko is good. Dirk is probably a better technical drummer than Nick ever was but the RIP line up just hit at the right time at the peak of Dave’s songwriting. I have a hard time getting into some of the new stuff even though it’s some of the best modern thrash out there.

I remember well as a teenager in high school playing lead guitar in my first real band just how heartbroken I was hearing Marty left. We were even covering Megadeth songs at the time and Marty was my absolute favorite guitarist. I personally was devastated. I know it sounds ridiculous but Megadeth and Marty were a big part of the driving force I had to play and practice like an animal. The guys in my band who we all pretty much started playing music at the same time turned me on to Megadeth and were absolute diehard fans. Even to the point of rejecting Metallica lol... I remember the inspiration I had learning I was going to play lead guitar and had Marty to study. Magical time in my life I will never forget. That first influence or spark that really drives you to not only play but devote practically all your time to it is something you never forget. Worst of all we had tickets to finally see Megadeth on tour together. I actually like Petrelli a lot and I have nothing but good things to say about him. But I badly wanted to see a Megadeth live show with Marty there. At least nowadays great live clips of that era are everywhere. Back in the late 90s before Napster Kazaa etc coming across good footage of live performances were a rare occurrence. I remember going to Sam goody and buying some Megadeth concert on tape but other than that you had to go to live shows to see something like this.

Excellent performance. Great to realize they play very close to album version. Vocals a bit out of tune at the very start -- probably due to bad monitors: Dave couldn't hear himself well. Overall almost a perfect live rendition of the studio recording. I mean, I don't like hearing some random solos at gigs -- I wanna hear the stuff I'm used to. Maybe it's just me.

ebalim a lot of people think Dave can’t play very good and don’t know a lot of solos he does. He might not be as technical as Marty but that man can shred his ass off. I personally love his playing style and the sick, RAW sounding solos he does. He’s a badass

@@samschossig334 He used to be good, especially at this time, when Friedman taught him some technique. Now, due to age and drugs he is neither good at singing or playing, which is really sad. He still plays okay, but compared to previous playing it is not even funny.. And playing doesn't have anything to do with age, Friedman and Poland still rock. But no matter, if he still plays well, because he was able to, is able to and will be able to write the most kick ass songs in history of metal.

Dave's and Marty's guitar styles sound similar at times because both of them were heavily inspired by UFO's guitarist Michael Schenker, who was already playing MAD shit in 1974 at age 17. The album is aptly titled "Phenomenon"

No, Marty's solos never slay Dave's, Dave's never slay Marty's. Marty plays with love and feel, with melody and care, so is better in that way. Dave plays with hate and anger and will just set fire to his neck as he shreds. It depends on if you prefer pure shred or melody. But both are very very very very very very talented either way
