Before you start the pen always pull the nib all the way out and put it back in to "burp" it (you can actually hear it press the air out when you put it back in)...doing this will stop it from blobing out the paint on you when your doing a long line

note on posca: they are poster color markers made to go on paper. they don't like being on glossy surfaces. they will work ok on matte but the big drawback is you will need some kind of water based topcoat bc they can scratch off very easily. if you use lacquer topcoat the paint will crack.

@@noblord8643 Nope. It's poster color/paint. That's a vague group of different paints that as a group only shares the being water based part and not watercolor/gouache/acrylic/fewotherwaterbasedpaintsandinks. Posca behaves most like acrylics and they play nice with most acrylics. It's not necessarily even the base or the binder that causes problems, but one of many additives/solvents/fillers that're often not disclosed. Water based topcoats (and primers/undercoats) are your safest choices, but you should still test all paint combinations first on a random piece of plastic. Not really an issue with models, but there are some protective coatings that can be removed with acetone, if you want to use Poscas. It's something that comes up with customizing sneakers for instance.

As a full time professional artist and Bookbinder... I own the entire Molotow paint marker line. In all the nib sizes, in the complete sets... even the double ended nib set. I have all their refills as well... they are hands down the absolute BEST for use in any finished art to be sold. They are actually artist grade paint in the markers, they are lighfast, have refills, they fill the entire marker barrel to the brim with paint ( every other paint marker are only filled half way, even posca ) and the Krunk markers are great too, limited colors tho. The newest ones that just recently came out are the Karen DecoBrush paint brush markers. I just bought their entire large box set, they have a brush nib like my copics... but its acrylic paint. I have only played around with them alittle bit, but they are definitely great for art... not sure about anything else. I also have all of the Golden high flow line, I use them to paint with, and hand marble paper, airbrush work..... BUT, IMO they aren't great in markers tho. You definitely went all out man, I haven't seen anyone go all out like this on paint markers before lmfao! Great job

You've got to keep the colors and the silvers and gold metallic separate in tests I've noticed the metallics always cover easier than the color ones when doing a review you should always do more of the colored pens they're harder to find out what is better in each brand of marker also it would be great to see what the white in each brand great review thanks 👍

Great roundup as usual! Hopefully in the future you try the better ones for durability without clearcoat. I think many are too lazy to clearcoat but still want to handle the surface every now and then. Also, I find Vallejo doesn't like to stick to the colored plastic on Hot Wheels. I'm sure tons of people would like to know what sticks to that stuff. Just some suggestions, but I know you're busy.

From water based markers Posca and Molotow are really good. As long as you put the cap on they shouldn't dry out and in general they rarely get clogged (with few exceptions). Neither requires constant shaking, pumping or cleaning the nib. Both can become unresponsive when mixed with other paints that're not completely dry or for unknown reasons reactivate from water. The clogging thing can happen with the very smallest nib sizes. For Posca their 1mm fineliner type nibs do that. Molotow 1mm fineliners and 0.7mm plastic nibs clog quite easily. Posca paint is slightly thinner. Both can be "fixed" with random scrap paper, acetone/alcohol or replacing the nib. Molotow is likely more generous with how full of paint their markers are. Both are excellent though. Posca often has pigments and other non solvent ingredients stuck on the inside walls of the markers paint container body. So if you really want to you can always get an extra 10-20% out of your marker by just adding a small amount of water after the marker is "empty". It's almost worth the effort since Posca doesn't sell refills. From refills the MTN brand is closest to Posca regarding flow and opacity. It really only matters with nibs below the 2mm region. With 3-4mm nibs you can use fairly cheap acrylic inks. With 1.5-2mm nibs most higher quality acrylic inks work fine. Acrylic ink is just another word for thin acrylic paint. TLDR: There's a reason why Posca and Molotow cost more than 4x of cheaper water based paint pens. Quality control, better valves, higher quality pigments and better paint formulas in general. Nibs are fairly similar to cheaper alternatives. All that causes less time shaking the pen, unclogging the nibs and few other things that become apparent with cheaper alternatives. Oh and usually Poscas are cheaper in NA, while Molotow is cheaper in EU by comparison. In Asia it's just always Posca, but they have few other comparable brands/products (Pilot Pintor for example).

I have a few of those Posca ones. Shame they don't go onto paint too well but they seem to be good otherwise. Those UK made Zeyar ones are a nice surprise, finally something I can get cheap in the UK! And they deliver the goods, too!

I haven't even started the video, but i will tell you already... posca all day for colors, molotw for Chrome. They make the spray paint brand called Belton(hands down the world's greatest graffiti paint). Posca markers reduce perfectly with the home brew airbrush reducer. I literally open the marker, pour it into a salsa cup, reduce it to add about 30% total and put it back in. The small amount of waste paint in the cup is always enough to do any small detail layers at the end of the day. (Lightning, transparent black/purple shadows, vent holes, etc...) if you can find it.. the old ZIG POSTERMAN has the same paint inside. One marker of black POSTERMAN acrylic ink mixed with a tiny bit of black createx will make a year's supply of black for airbrushing once it's reduced. Rex, if you see em' grab em!!! Peace mon!

Also a tip, if you travel to a higher elevation...when you first crack a new paint pen, do it facing up to release the pressure without exploding the pooled paint in the front. You don't need to pump and pump away either. Hold it open for gravity to get involved. Let's build a Machinder mash up Rex!

Very good. Paint markers seem to have improved a LOT since I first bought them. I use wethering colors for my railroad and military models and have been let down, but it looks like these might be worth a try. I would have been interested in seeing how some of the matte finish wethering colors would perform. I tried traditional Sharpie markers but bought that their ink ran very badly after an application of Testors' Dullcote.

Yes, the original paint marker. I miss them them. I believe they discontinued them around 10 years ago here in the US. Not sure if they still sell them in other countries still. They were cutting edge when they came out, no one in the hobby made a paint maker. They were ahead of their time

In my humble option. I don't think you have to "RUSH" that comes through on the video. So the video ends up not being as relaxing to watch but only a tad rushed feel. Maybe cut down some of your "rambling" your words not mine when going over a new product. Especially when we have see countless videos on Airbrushes. I never thought they were "too long" long yes but most of the video it did not make me want to fast forward over sections. I bought a lot of paint/Airbrush supplies base on your videos. And for some videos maybe not cover every color. If that satisfies others. I take screen shots of the colors and make a Apple Nots app note out of it.

I want to see all the colors. I don’t care if they go on good. So then don’t paint anymore. Paint them all. If it takes two or three videos oh well that’s two or three videos. I don’t just want to see what they look like at the end of the videos.
