That 3Rensho is a work of art. Be still my heart! If I were going to ride one regularly though, like you I'd pick the Bridgestone.

I think I died and went to heaven after gazing upon the 3Rensho.

That black Nagasawa is to die for.

My fave is the 3Rensho because it has my beloved lugs and off the chart fixie points chrome plating. If you're going lugged; they should be shown off with contrasting paint, or better yet chromed! That green/gold paint is a beautiful color. I would have gone with polished cranks, personally. I see 3Rensho frames are about $1,500- $2000 in the USA, so they are not too much - no banks need to be robbed. Next fave is the Bridgestone with the nice purple metalflake! I would have blinged it out with all chrome components. Oh yeah, polished flat bars all around. As "Classic Motorcycle" magazine says, "Don't hide 'em. Ride 'em."

That 3 Rensho is truly mind boggling!

Duuuuude..... these bikes....wow.... Bridgestone is my fave. Purple. Practical. Understated. Also, appreciate the ad format- mention it early on, but save the plug for the end. Feels polite.

To be honest there were parts of all three builds I loved, like. The crankset, and rims of the first build. The tires and handlebars of the second build, and the frame of the third build.

The 3Rensho's paint is nuts... it really reminds me of the Legnano green. Fun fact i actually have a Legnano Olimpiade frame from the 70s that was my grandfather's (beautiful lugs and fork,complete with internal routing for rear brake and shift and custom welded frame pump holder 'winglets' on the seat tube. Never seen anything like that up until this). I rebuilt it this year, but i painted it a beautiful Lime-Acidic green, with bright yellow notes under light, but keeping the deepest hue under the shade. I can't stop marvelling it, but it was meant to be functional too, and with everything but the original NISI rims replaced, it rides like heaven!

That 3rensho is bonkers. Absolutely bonkers.

The 3Rensho is the most beautiful bike I've ever seen. As I was watching the video, I began to wonder if I had one, would I ride it or just put it in a case in the living room with a light shinning on, like in a museum. Riding it in the town I live, when I park, I would have to hire an armed guard to watch over it. :(

It's been years since I read it, but I'm pretty certain that the inspiration for the name 3Rensho is "3 consecutive victories is the sign of a true champion".

For your next Q&A can you explain why NJS builds are so good.

For practical reasons, unless you're trying to race in Japan, they aren't. NJS parts are built for professional use so they tend to be high-quality, but you can find cheaper and better non-NJS parts. It's more about aesthetics and the story behind your bike.

Hard to outshine any Nagasawa but GODDAMN! that 3Rensho is a goddess.

3rensho’s super clean but there’s something about the Bridgestone that makes me want one so bad 😻

The 2nd was the one I'd want to ride the most. The 4th was my favorite, but it looks too good to ride.

I finally got myself an njs frame in pristine condition with no dents. A makino I built up. Once it’s complete I’ll post a bike check video

OMG - super vid! 1st or last - I would trade my bike for the 3rensho in a heartbeat; seriously consider trading my bike for the Iribe. Would proudly ride the hell out of the Nagasawa and Bridgestone, but wouldn't trade for the current whip. Sparkle pink & holographic decals - may not sleep for days.

people are still obsessing on NJS? I thought that ended in like 2007. fuck man, we were going nuts for sheriff stars and chub hubs back then and those were already old news. I do have a lot of nostalgia for my Ohtaki though. nice set of dura-ace hubs on some practical miche rims. can't remember the crank set, but I had a lot of fun on that bike. you've never heard of sapim? they make spokes. rims look like some standard deep v style thing.

of course there was a purple bike up there

Bikes are insanely expensive. Craigslist and Facebook marketplace are littered with morons over pricing garbage making used purchases stupid also.

This is probably a noob question, but I'm serious. What qualifies a build as NJS? Is an NJS frame with nothing but AliExpress components still NJS? Do I need to be able to take it to a Keirin track and not be disqualified? What specifically?

@Jarda P Right, but none of the bikes in this video were 100% NJS, and most could not be ridden in a Keirin race. Does an NJS frame make the entire bike qualify as an "NJS build?" What if I have one Dura-Ace hub and nothing else NJS?
