Gate is easily the most frustrating part of this game. When it takes a speedrunner two minutes to beat him, you know it's a pain in the neck.

The time it takes to beat Gate is completely up to RNG, and it's so stupid.

Speedrunner logic: If your not in a online relationship with RNG, forget getting past gate in less than 5 minutes

@@andrearovenski probably a bit over 2 hours... never timed it just aproximating. What slows me down is i dont use that ice block trick in museum to get the optimal teleport rng.. i just kind of run the stage until i get all the reploids. Im gonna learn it though and hopefully get under the 2 hour mark.

Shane Wright Proto Man was used a one of Dr. Wily’s references for creating Zero in the canon lore, so absolutely! I wouldn’t be surprised if Roll was another inspiration as you suspected.

ITsMigu _ any% doesn't do all the stages, and this category is a lot less fun because it is mostly luck based. Also, this run is old and out dated, check for my 29 minute run

This game is hot fucking garbage but I love it. Part of that is because Megaman X has such a specific appeal for me that no game that gets the basic gameplay elements of it right can be something I truly hate, but also because I'm the type of person who loves mastering a game and dissecting its design. With the other X games, that's a pretty easy process because of how well designed they are but X6's bullshit creates what I personally find to be a pretty satisfying challenge. Learning what the nightmare effects are and how to avoid the worst of them, learning how to abuse Zero's abilities for invincibility or to just destroy the game's bosses, finally beating Nightmare Mother after dying over and over again, defeating High Max early to reach the end of the game, or trying out different challenge runs is something that I love (I should probably try speedrunning now that I think about it). I don't like it as much as X1, X2, X4, or X5 but X6 holds a pretty special place for me

Nightmare mother gave you good rng so yeah, still i find that fight to be the hardest in the game

+Hugo Zenni it removes the bosses immunity frames allowing them to take more dmg. Guard shell was coded buggy which allows this to take place. works for X and zero as well.

When you dash you cancel the attacking animation, which lets you attack again, and then you cancel it dashing,

The shield is *very* glitchy with zero. Any overlap with a hit box, the shield, and the saber causes *massive* damage
