This is the Mexican bootleg of Mega Man 2, hence Mega Man Dos. That's why the sequel is Mega Man 3.

I had this game as a kid and had half convinced myself that it didn't exist.

oh, me too. Later on I was not only surprised to learn that it was real, but that it wasn't an incredibly shady bootleg :)

This game is surprisingly well made for a single person project. Doesn't save it from being a monstrosity of a game, but you have to admire such work.

Awesome that they licensed 4'33" for this game

She's in the Keizaron tier of engaging runners. I don't know how you play a game that bad and just kill the entire time. Plus the couch was a great compliment.

I got this back in the day on my IBM 386/DX PC. Needless to say, disappointment was my best friend that day.

I played this on my 486DX3 66MHz and I had to speed it down from BIOS or turbo button to play :D

This run was very entertaining. Great commentary and the streamer was funny and informative too!

I honestly didn't expect to hear Kid Pix mentioned in a run.

This games feels oddly creepy. Dyna Man looks horrifying honestly, like a defective robot.The large levels and lack of music doesn't help either. Also look at Dyna Man's eyes. They stare into your soul. Also why's Megaman so FAT

it depends if you view "PC" as only x86 systems, or computers in general... because there were much better computer standards at that time and even sooner, such as Amiga and Atari ST. These machines were made in the 80's and would not be surpassed (in 2D performance) until GameCube/PS2/Xbox. The PS1 and N64 of course had 3D GPU's but in 2D sprite/tile mode they could not outperform the Amiga. The x86 wintel platform was far behind Amiga as well until Windows 95.

@@salvatronprime9882 not really. I don't see why you can't brute force with software rendering. Where did you find that Amiga was that far ahead. At best its snes + genesis combined but even genesis has features that the Amiga lacked.

What's sad about this run is that this color scheme of CGA shows that the folks running it *don't understand how CGA graphics worked* Set up properly, this game looks surprisingly good.

I loved the Kid Pix reference! I had that computer program when I was young and I loved it. :D

Once they do the thumbnails for KZread I really hope they pick the calculator

my mom bought me this game when I was a kid because she couldn't afford to buy me an NES at the time and I remember being so excited to get home to play it and immediately having my heart torn out and feeling betrayed because it was clearly not a MegaMan game.

I love that you have to beat a stage just to get to the robot master select screen. This is a great run to watch if you come right off of the AVGN episode.

Some of those cyan backgrounds legit hurt my eyeballs.

I had this game when I was a kid and I definitely never got past the first stage. Didn't even know there was a boss select screen...

The real speedrun is getting this game to run.

This was the first MegaMan game I ever played.

3:17 actually, CGA does not only support white, black, magenta and cyan. Depending on the BIOS settings you have more "4 color"-pallettes to choose from (an alternative palette would be black, green, red, brown), it just happens that the stereotypical black,white,magenta,cyan-palette offers the most contrast and most color differentiation (cyan and pink are more distinguishible from eachother than brown and red, or brown and green) so that's why most developers chose that one.

and with some tricks you could get up to 1024 colours but you would tax the cpu way to hard.

CGA is those colours because on a fuzzy old monitor and the horrible rainbow moire effect caused by trying to display shading they can be combined to create different colours. On the right monitor most CGA games are in full colour

I used to play the shit out of this on a Tandy 1000 in CGA mode on a monochrome green crt in my early teens.

I had MM3 DOS as a kid, and I hate myself so much for losing the disk somewhere along the way. The only things I remember about it are Shark Man's stage and... guys? Robots? Ghosts? Things running around in bio hazard suits spraying acid at everything. Oh! And Inti Creates totally stole Blade Man from MM3 DOS.
