i love that they took the time to make an oldschool sequel to mega man. and i really hope that they continue to do so. i feel like theres a huge market for videogame throwbacks (but not remakes) of old franchises that oldschool gamers used to play. this one, in my opinion, was done perfectly; same antagonist, same protagonist, similar enemies, same mechanics, new enemy types, done! the game was so good as it was. improve what exists and call it by the same name, remake it? call it something else

@LoelDittFisk The video length and run time are two different things. As you see at the end of the video, the in game timer is 0:26:30. The game doesn't count a lot of things towards the timer, such as stage intro, stage select, pause menu, boss entrance, etc.

The refight order was mostly a plan, though I do believe I had a brain far at the end on how to handle the last two, mainly in regards to when to use the M-Tank. In case you didn't notice, outside of Jewel Man, if you went around the room, it's in weakness order going clockwise. Just basically move Jewel Man's teleporter to the top center and there you go.

@Zeromusmetal If you want to know some of the methods we use at SDA, here's what you can do: Go to Speeddemosarchive[dot]com, then click on Knowledge Base. Then go to the section that says "Getting Started: Recording a" and click "Console game".

I've got a lot of stuff to work on, and being beaten by 2 minutes is a large margin. I may come back to this someday, but for now, I'm done. There's plenty of new awesome stuff that'll be coming to SDA soon, so just keep your eyes out for it. :)

I learned some cool things from this video. I never know the Jewel Satellite could reflect shots back at the enemy and damage them with said shots, or there could be 2 Concrete Shots on screen. Tornado Blow is great for a jump boost, btw. Just a suggestion: I always found Tornado Blow to be the most effective weapon against Hanabiran (the flower mid-boss in Hornet Man's level). You have to be careful not to jump when you first fire it, or you'll go right into the bar (or the spikes).

You know, if megaman would have just stuck a bullet in Film's brain after the first game, this would have been a non-issue.

@sagacious03 No, TASVideos uses Mega Man. SDA uses Quake (which the site was originally solely about). P.S. I'm not actually retired. It was a joke. I was only gonna "retire" from running Mega Man 9. As you can see by looking at news updates on SDA, I'm still very much active.

Because my time got waxed by Satoryu. Even if it did, it got mixed reviews from the verifiers. This is one of those games that there's a lot of high expectations, and I guess I didn't deliver on them. There's a thread in SDA's new Verification Information forum that explains the thoughts of the verifiers and the staff about my run. I suggest you go read that.

I like to use the magma bazooka on Wily's first form, since the odds of missing with it are far lower. However, I do see you use it against his third form when he's up high. Probably a better idea, if your megabuster aim/timing is not as crappy as mine. :P

I've played and beaten all of the MM Original games (yes, including Rockman & Forte). Personally, I didn't like 4-6. I liked 9 much more then those 3 games.
