There's a glitch that sometimes happens against GeminiMan. Sometimes when you kill one, the other will still do that fast movement and high jump pattern as if both were still there. Once you kill him, some of his health will still be visible but there's no one there to hit and you'll be stuck. I haven't found a way to perform this glitch when you want, but it sometimes happens.

@@GeminiLaser I've seen it happen before. Sometimes Gemini Man will just disappear and you'll be stuck in the boss room.

Looks like you've played this game about as much as I have. I don't think you missed any of the 2nd controller glitches, but try playing it as a kid with a brother or sister randomly holding up on the 2nd controller.

Ever notice that Gamma looks like Gutsman?

+Shelby Brown Wily has something with Gutsie. There are statues of him on the final Wily Castle on MM1. On Megaman 2, one of the Wily Castle stages has Guts Dozer as its boss, Wily takes Gutsman from the Robot Museum on MM7, and now this.

There are a bunch of circumstances in Legacy Collection where you can finish a room in a challenge with 0 HP (most commonly tying with a boss, but occasionally you can die and immediately hit the teleporter). You actually do proceed to the next room of the challenge when this happens, but alive with zero HP. In Mega Man 3, this means zombie glitch! (In other games though, me having only tested MM4, you simply die the next time you get hit.)

This is why I came back to this video. This happened to me during the All Robot Rush. In Megaman 2, you'll die as soon as you're hit as well.

I enjoyed the "hitting yourself" part of the video. Never thought of doing that with the second controller cheats.

That slo-mo-buttshooting-GeminiMan segment was gold :D

Fun fact: when you skipped that Proto Man segment, the whistle that normally plays was actually played in full, and it usually cuts off after the first loop due to Proto Man arriving.

3:47 you can also do this glitch without super jump by sliding into the next screen and then jumping into capsule before Proto Man breaks it, apparently, the devs programmed it so that whenever Mega Man gets done jumping or sliding he stops in place

Does it actually subtract an extra life from your total? I didn't check.

Back in the day, I managed to find the invulnerability glitch while pressing left on the second controller. If I remember correctly, you were also immune to spikes while doing this glitch, and to get around not being able to shoot, I abused the hell out of Rush Coil.

That "Mega Man's on the fritz" bit made me spit my Coke all over the screen...well, if I had any Coke. Still made me laugh really hard.

@GeminiLaser I agree on both of these points: Top Spin is glitchy as all get-out, and Top Spin is an awesome weapon. It kills approximately 30% of the game in a single hit, at which point the glitchiness becomes inconsequential. Use it against anything else, and you're likely to get hit and waste most if not all your weapon energy.

You forgot one. In the beginning of Shadow Man's Doc Robot stage, during the spike drop section, you have to hit the spikes just as you're shifting rooms. The death sound will play, but you live! There will be no music though.......... and it will go back on when you go to the first Doc Robot.

For some silly reason, the part at 7:49 always made me laugh. I guess it's a combination of the timing of Spark Man's music, the sudden cutoff and the "BIFF!" at the end of it all.

I found a glitch by myself,if you use mega jump with rush marine, you can be on land

Hey, don't feel bad. Every true Super Mario World player has dumped Yoshi into a death pit for a second jump, me included.

That was hilarious, mostly the fooling around with the second controller at the end.

One more thing with up and A second controller glitch: When you freeze the only boss that can force you out of this state is Flash Man Doc Robot, so be careful.. Also, if you become invincible, you can't shoot out regular shots. You can only shoot out robot master weapons. That is, unless you have ammo for rush coil, jet or marine. Also, NEVER use all your ammo while in this state, ESPECIALLY if you enter a robot master room. You can't die, and they can't die, so be careful.

I played this game habitually as a kid, i knew about the rush jet one, everything else was a surprise, well done!

Here are some glitches I discovered which I haven't seen any videos on. In the Doc Robot Spark Man stage after the Doc Metal Man on that part where you jump down and try to avoid the spikes while falling I just BARELY touched a spike and I heard the death noise. Then it kept playing in a loop and I was still alive and there was no music until I got to the boss. In the same stage I was running past those guys that combine together and then come after you when one connected with another but then it turned invisible. I stayed to look at it when all of a sudden it started flashing these weird colors and turning into that fish from Gemini Man's stage. It did major damage when I touched it. I've only been able to pull off the spike glitch once and that other glitch happens at complete random. Feel free to reply of this has ever happened to you.

I actually pulled off the glitch where you pass through Protoman’s cylinder using a slide jump instead of the second controller one. Even better, it was on stream.

Spark Shock has to be a weapon that wasn't finished yet. It acts like Ice Slasher in Mega Man III (the Game Boy one), yet here it's practically useless. If only this game weren't rushed...

Love this game! I vaguely remember some of these glitches, in particular using g the second controller.

I agree. Megaman should be shooting Spinning Tops instead of spinning like a Top.

Actually, if you keep one of the Rush accessories equipped, you can continue firing your mega buster, and don't have to waste all your other weapons. Just equip Rush Marine, if you have it, and keep shooting. You can't accidentally use him up like Rush Coil or Rush Jet, so it's perfect for most levels.

I remember being like, 10 or 11 years old when I first saw this video. I tried to do half of these on the Anniversary Collection with varying degrees of success.

How I think Top Spin should work: You shoot a top that's half Mega Man's height, it freezes where you shot it at (Air, ground) and continues to do a spinning animation, and then it flies off the screen in a random direction, hitting enemies if there are any, because when you spin a top, you don't know where it's going to go... If someone made an ASM hack of this, Top Spin would be GOOD, and not Mega Man pretending to be a ballerina.

Once again, very strange and entertaining glitches! :D

I don't know if it has been said, but you can use your regular buster, you just have to equip one of the Rush modes and you can fire your buster and as long as you don't jump on rush coil or ride rush jet untill they are out of energy you can keep shooting.

i just discovered a glitch in the shadow man doc robot stage where if you hit spikes just as a screen transition starts the death sound plays but you dont die it does cancel the music though

i remember back in the 90s me and my brother found that glitch and we were suprised about the dieing part and superjump :)

There is a little trick, it's not a glitch or anything, and it's very easy: Just before fighting Protoman in a robot master stage, pause right before you touch the ground, and you will hear the complete theme of Protoman's whistle.

FYI: When ya jump the platform in the Gemini Man stage, the penguin-makers in the middle of the stage look distorted. Try it :) There is a trick to use the Rush Jet WITHOUT acquiring it from the Needle Man stage... but I can't recall how. Maybe you've already noted both... I'm gonna look for your first MM3 run. Great work!

You can go through the floor that Protoman’s supposed to break in Gemini Man’s stage with a well timed slide jump as well.

I knew I wasnt the only one who knew about the infinite health thing, I discovered this in 2000 completely by accident, no guides or internet, Its so fun.

Top spin can actually kill gamma 2.0 instantly. It's not the WORST weapon ever. It's just useless before gamma. Also the second controller glitches were accidentally left in while proving that the game is beatable.

Best use for Top Spin: Stand under Dr. Wiley at the end of the game and use the Super Jump (right on controller 2) with the Top Spin. You'll take some damage, but you beat him in 1 hit.

Had NO IDEA about all these things. Think my poor tv screen wouldn't have been hit with the controller so many times had I known this.

Just saw a glitch on a youtube video recently and I'm not sure if you've seen it. Anyway, a guy ran into death spikes and the explosion sound happened, but megaman was still alive. He landed and was still able to fire on stuff, but the music completely went out. However he was able to finish the stage, and the boss music came on. Have you seen a glitch like this ever happen?

My little brother and I accidentally discovered the 2nd controller stuff way back when. He was like 5 or 6 and liked to practice on the second controller while I was playing and voila.

One time, I hit the spikes at the beginning of Shadow Man's stage at the EXACT frame the screen scrolled. The music just stopped.

Im trying to get the rush jet glitch to work but does it only work on the Nes? Because im using the Rockman complete works edition. Its in japanese too.

hey geminilaser! you know when you're zombie Megaman you don't have enough power to shoot your plasma buster? if you switch to rush coil and don't get on rush you can shoot your plasma pellets! rush teleports in but you're able to shoot normal shots, just don't get on rush and it's like you never lost it! but you still remain zombie Megaman.

2:26, looking back on this, I think that counts as a death...I did this a few times, only to find out when I started to play seriously, I was on my last life.

@GeminiLaser Well it works on Wii Virtual Console, I'm not sure about The Anniversary Edition either. They might of just re did the entire game on the Anniversary, or just copy-pasted it onto the GC, but with a new pause screen. I don't use emulators or own the Anniversary Edition (or a GC controller for that matter.) so I am also unsure.

We got this game when it first came out and our cartridge has total graphic glitch problems. None of the sprites looked the way they were supposed to. Instead of sending it back we just learned to play it that way. Now that was difficult. I'm wondering if anyone else had a cart like this or was it a fluke thing?

I've had that happen with Mega Man 4 and Chrono Trigger, but the issue resolved itself after shutting off the game. I've never heard of a cartridge always glitching out like that.

4:08 And also, if you go where the duck-penguin mini boss was, it would glitch out and look like a lizard, using tiles from Snake Man's level.

As a kid I had something like 4:13 happen to me one time where the game was stuck and the death sound just played over and over again. It freaked me out!

Do you know that if you press 'select' button on controller 1 can heal your health? Do you know if you press 'right direction' button on controller 2 can make you super jump

That does explain why Spark Shock is the worst weapon.
