I love the little timer flourishes. I didn’t see any on this one, but the dog run of Gyromite had a few that made me laugh.

Doing MM3 buster only is really hard. It also destroys your fingers after doing attempts for extended periods. KLM is really talented guy being able to pull this off so well in a marathon.

This runner crushes it. Never seen a buster only fight before and am blown away. Thanks for continuing to find new ways to keep MM speedruns fresh, interesting, and brutally hard.

I rented this game so many times as a kid, I probably could've bought it for myself .....twice! lol I think this and Megaman 4 were my favorite "NES Megaman" titles... I remember this one having that "trick" where you could hold the jump button on controller 2, and you can jump as high as the ceiling. I used to set an old chair leg down on the controller button... lol

As far as I'm concerned, Rush is Buster. If you shoot with Rush, it fires Buster pellets.

2 and 3 are like the only onces i can't buster only, because of woodman

this is the only mega man i couldnt beat as a kid, i thought it was impossible to jump over wood mans leaf shield. in mega man 2 i had no problems with it :D great run!!

The Doc Robot fights are hard! I can crush Mega Man II easily, but the Doc Robot versions kick my butt every time.

just plug in controller 2 and press right on it.

Could plug in second controller to super jump for this game to keep buster only

Does it really violate Buster Only to use Rush? After all, you still only get to use the Buster,.

It only violates the run if you use rush when it isn't required. There are parts of this run where you can't progress unless you use some Rush utility, so that's all that's allowed.

Buster only MM3? Doc Robots got me sweating...

With the most accurate frame time is actually at 50 : 09 . 9.

Is it me, or is KLM suuuuper cute. Lol. And this was one of my favorite games growing up. I remember this being way harder then he made it seem. Great run.

I wish I had caught this live. I often wonder why runners who use glitches don't take advantage of the 2nd controller super jump glitch. Not only can you jump much higher, but you can also avoid mini-bosses, and if you fall into a pit you can jump out of it if you're fast enough. Also the pit hit can count as a death but you keep going so it removes the music too like you do in Gemeni stage. Additionally, it can allow you to do a true buster only run, as Rush catapult wouldn't be needed.

If you use the pit death glitch, you also become invincible, but it kills the Buster-only run because it deactivates the buster (though you can shoot with Rush equipped.)

those are such extreme glitches that I think it is fair to consider them cheats regardless of whether they were put in the game deliberately.

have we hit a point with megaman 3 where we can introduce modded roms that merely fix the game for faster speeds lol. this is one of those games that is loved enough that if the current speedruns strats get optimized enough it would be the next move.
