I think my favorite thing about this world record is that it's obvious there's still room to improve and this guy knows it. He points out the small tech errors and things that don't go right. It's like he's telling other runners where to look for ways to beat his record. I think that's impressive.

Gotta remember the patterns. Item 2 is cool and nets you the extra life in say heat man's stage, but the route I use to play MM2 (not speedrunning, I just play the game to relax) I play heat man early without the item so I memorized the pattern for his block puzzles. Muscle memory and rhythm take over and in about 30 seconds we're on our way.

17:57 First time ever a person made a game have a seizure.
I will just say that it takes just as much skill if not more to execute the "glitches" (zips) as it does to simply jump across some platforms,climb some ladders or blast some enemies. They are done simply to save time. That is why he is running in the category he is and that is why the record counts. Very impressive to execute all of this in the same run and beat the clock on top of it. These guys are good at what they do and they put alot of effort into it. Congrats on the WR 👍
@abasslinelow
6 жыл бұрын
I guarantee you guys it takes much, much more skill to execute those glitches. They are INSANELY hard. I've practiced some of them for hours and hours and still have less than a 50% success rate. A few in particular are just... insane, such as the one at on the first screen of Crash's stage. Just ludicrously difficult to pull off even once, no less with consistency in a run.

Guy from Sweden beat this in May by fractions of a second.
Congrats friend, you really gave it to this game! Great Job!
I love watching runs like this because they have so much pressure on them but they're kind of cocky anyway because they know that even if they fail, they're still better than you.

As a fellow Megaman fan, this was extremely entertaining to watch.
This video came at exactly the right moment. Finished the game this week and instantly joined my top 10 games. Wondered what else it had to offer. Now I know I have a long time to go.
Before anyone who has never heard of a speedrun comments that it was cheating that he used glitches, this is an any% speedrun. In this kind of speedrun and most others, glitching is absolutely not cheating.
I was COMPLETELY blown away at Crash Man. That was awesome.
can somebody explain why he does the refights of the bosses (with the tele room) in a certain order. does he not loose time going to the right tele. would it not be more efficient to them orderly in a row and not go back and forth. maybe it has to do with health deplition?
It is ironic that when you are speedrunning, Metal Man Stage is one of the latest stages to play instead of the first.

3:28 if you quickly turn to facing right hand side and take the damage, won't you be pushed to the left and save 0.3 seconds?
>complains about speedrunner using zips >Probably couldn't beat this game in three hours with a Game Genie
Legend. The grind has been real. cygh has taken this game to the absolute next level.
What are the different colored, and numbers of, vertical bars in the top left by each level and the times?

I don't watch his streams so I have to ask. What do the colored bars next to the letters mean in his Twitch window?
@ShuriBear
6 жыл бұрын
It is the way he does his "splits" (time section). The more bars the better that split was. This way he knows immediately on which time section he can save a lot of time and on which time section he most likely will lose time.
Do you do runs without the glitches as well?
Congrats man! Very cool!
Dude did heatman second and beat it so fast... And that glitch blew my mind. I never would have played this order in my childhood
Wow! that shortcut in Crash Man's stage! I didn't know about that either!
I appreciate IGN making these viewed outside of the Megaman circle.
MM2 is my favorite NES game. It was always my go to to play no matter how many times I beat it. Just enjoyed getting lost in it.
7:36 the audio on this glitch is awesome
Where did you get the air man and heat man on that flag pillow in the background????
okey, i get that people dont like any% speedruns, but why people think he is using turbo, he is CLEARLY not doing it... i think that people beliving his gaming is so casual that they dont even belive in the need to ACTUALLY watch his hands talk much more about why any% and speedrunners are so amazing.

People love to flap their jowls about things they don't understand.
Has anyone else noticed that at around 24:49 after defeating crash man and walking out of the teleporter the sound cuts out then returns with a pop noise and Mega Man stop moving for a frame or 2?
The ads in this video had more time than your total gameplay.
9:07 "We're getting to wood man" * has already gone to quick *
Awesome job man! Does this mean you’re not getting Weezer back together anytime soon?
I don't get why ppl complain about the zips, they definitely don't make the game easier. Also if they wanna see no zips they should watch a glitches run.
