It’s a smart man that keeps crane operator instructions in his pocket. You might not deal with the same operator often, but if everybody uses the same signals properly, life goes smoother. Good job, lads. 😁🤙🏼

We use standard signals throughout the uk and anyone who does the slinger signaller course is taught them, tested on them, and only people with the relevant ticket is allowed to give signals to the operator on site

yep, when i completed my operator and rigging course, we were given some for quick reference and to keep on us when we go to new sites. handy little cards those!

Any of Tom's videos that feature anybody from Wareing always makes me smile. Everyone is so friendly, seemingly happy in their jobs and professional too! They also seem to enjoy being around Tom and on the Pemberton Farm, which doesn't at all surprise me. Birds of a feather flock together and any construction project on the farm demonstrates this old proverb perfectly.

I've never seen a happier customer of a construction firm before !!! Wareings, what a great company; doing bespoke builds superbly.

I think its great that you and the tradesmen show what it takes to do their job. As the coming generation is nearing their retirement the work force is in need of replacements young people need to be exposed to the trade jobs good paying jobs.

Used very similar signals on sailboats. No shouting, no confusion, just know what each signal is. It makes life easy and pleasant.

@tom thats a mini crane it only got 2 axels, a mega crane has a minimal of 5 axels for my understanding. 😛

Back in the happy place which is pembertons farm

As I have watched all the improvements on the farm, I can't but worry that everything works out for the best. I'm a very frugal person, and worry about money spent. But with planning and foresight, my hopes are only for the best for your farm and family.

Its great to see old farmsteads continually improving over decades! The half shed was built 12 years ago with this addition planned from the beginning! As you Brits would say, brilliant! I am also impressed at how compact the buildings of the farm are! Great job!

7:39 please tom don't stand or walk under the lift. yes it's a 1:100 000 000 that it would actually fail as there are fail safes in place that lock it in place incase of hydralic pressure failure but it can still happen so best to not risk it

Love the vids Tom. Having worked in and around major construction for a number of years I do get nervous when you stroll into and through the worksites without the full safety kit on. Would be keen to see you chat/interview a safety officer one day to see how farmers can be safe whilst construction is taking place on their farms 👍.

was a banksman for years worked with tower cranes and upto 1000 ton mobile cranes that have 4 or 5 support trucks with them. would take a full day to set up a 1000 ton crane
