I had something like that happen to me is main Warsaw Poland train station in 1993 (I was lost and sought help from people milling about. I was told to “go around the building, go around the corner to a special kiosk etc” and I complied. The “friendly man” was even so kind to show me this kiosk himself. It turned out to be a set up to a robbery when about 5 of his accomplices tried to jump me. I got out by lucky accident and yelling my lungs out. In a split second they panicked. I had $2k usd cash on me. Only thing they got was a map of Warsaw. Lol So you guys were wise not to entertain this guy at all.

Unfortunate situation, but you have a good story now. Always the way we try to handle it in these moments! I’ve had attempted scams in this way too. Nice tips for travelers for sure!

Не, случайно так вышло )) Ой, он хотел ,чтобы мы билет у него купили, потом он бы нас подобрал с непонятной остановки. Всякую чепуху придумывал, что мы аж ничего не поняли 😂. Мы пошли и купили билет на кассе, ему это не понравилось ахахаха)) он пытался нас не пустить в автобус, потому что мы не заплатили на рюкзаки, за которые платить не нужно 😂 чудила, короче
