Agreed. Secrets only feed shame which itself only feeds the pain and those in pain will hurt others and so it goes. What’s brought into the light can heal.
Firstly, what a privilege and blessing to still have your mom and grandmother around. Treasure them and their childhood stories. Secondly, Luke reminds me so much of my late husband. I walked with my head in the clouds...but my late husband kept me grounded. He understood me like no one else and loved me unconditionally. I think you and Luke make a beautiful couple. Stay strong.
I smiled the whole way through this video! The mami and abuelita such perfection and now I understand your ways and soft spoken demeanor. Luke was the icing on the cake -- he is a great match for you; I can see the love -- shy and reserved but looks at you like a husband should, so lovingly! Thank you for sharing them with us. ❤️. A rare flower in the Garden Of Eden indeed, someone who immersed herself in the peace of solitude, who saw what kept her from her true self, who created exquisite beauty out of her unique beauty. Thank you Paola for the modeling and inspiration you give me through your artistry.

You have wonderful people in your life Paola! Your mother, grandmother, your husband, they are all very sweet. Thanks for sharing this part of your life with us!
Your abuela sent me into tears. I have recently broken away and stopped talking to my narcissistic mother who has verbally abused me so much of my life. It has been hard as she wants back in, but your grandmothers words spoke right to my soul! I am breaking the generational trauma for my children 💗 thank you for the blessing that your channel is!

Thanks so much for this video! 💚 I'm from Spain and, like your grandma, I was severly abused as a kid. I'm now 38 and C-PTSD still affects my daily life in some degree. My parents died almost 3 years ago, at the beginning of the pandemic, from covid, and since then I've been speaking up a bit about my childhood with the hope I can help others a bit. I think of the kids and teenagers who are, sadly, currently going through the same horror I went through. And then I imagine how much it would have helped me, as a teenager, to hear somone older than me talking about how their future life is totally worth it, in spite of all the pain they went through as kids. And I want to speak up, hoping I can be that person to teenagers who may read what I write. However, I sometimes wonder whether I'm being a "bad person" for speaking ill of my parents (even though they kind of deserve it) and I have doubts about what I'm doing... But listening to your grandma talking in this video has made me realize it's okay. It's so refreshing to see someone from an older generation speak up unapologetically about what they went through as kids. And it helps me tremendously. I feel better about what I'm doing. Because now I know I can really help younger people. Thank you so, so much. By the way, your grandma is an amazing, strong, badass woman for breaking the cycle of abuse like that! It is NOT easy. She has my deepest respect. 💚🙏 💚🙏
You and your husband are adorable together. So happy for you :)

Paola, I am 64 years old and you have also brought a healing to my heart. Your gentle spirit is refreshing, and watching you live out your life in a slower, more gentle pace has helped me. I watched the interview with your Mom and Grandmother and it was very touching. I am thankful that out of the trauma that was a part of her daily life, she brought up children, and influenced her grandchildren, that good can come of everything. Thank you for sharing your life and your family with us.
I'm delighted to get to meet these very special people in your life. I enjoy all your videos so much. They are so soothing to my soul, as well as being educational. You live in such a beautiful part of the country. I adore your choices of background music, your sweet pets, and I love watching you bake a tasty treat or brew a cup of tea. I'm also of the opinion that one cannot possibly have too many books! Please continue making your wonderful uplifting and relaxing videos. They are an oasis of calm in a chaotic world. Oh, and in case you're interested in the demographics of your followers, I just turned 70 (according to my birth certificate) but feel much younger in my heart and mind, thanks in no small part to you.

Just watching her innocence makes me feel decades younger too. I am in my middle 60s and she reminds me of how I used to react to the world before burdens and heavy personalities entered my life. I believe she reminds us how simple and lovely life can be if we just allowed all this technology to slip away. 🪷🌼🍃. She even makes her own homemade spaghetti noodles in an old-fashioned hand-turned appliance. And then adds embellishments to the noodles.☘️🌸. She is a true treasure of a person.
Your abuelita/grandmother is so right, about breaking the cycle of any negative behavior. And this is where good friends can play such an important role.

You look so happy together. Your mom and your grandma are so sweet.
I loved seeing the three people who inspire you and make you feel better. This is something that we all need in our support system it makes life so much better and richer. Thank You So much.
Your grandmother has my deepest, deepest respect. Breaking the cycle of abuse is so difficult, and even people with the best intentions can not do it, yet she says it like it wasn't a big deal. One thing I have often told my mother, was that I respected and admired her for going through hell as a child, teen, and young woman at the hands of her father, but that she refused to be like him. It takes iron will and it's not easy but listening to your grandmother and my mother, they make it seem like a no-brainer. May God bless them eternally for giving us happy and violence free childhoods so that we have nothing but love and tolerance to pass on to our children. ❤️❤️❤️

i got chills when your grandma talked about breaking the cycle (the "patron" i think she called it, i may be wrong i sadly don't speak spanish). what a powerful creator of a new universe for your lineage. it all starts with a small decision of one person and it leads to things that impact entire generations! if every single one of us decided to break one pattern, not even one remotely as traumatic as that of your abuela's, we would be consciously creating a new generation of humans, more evolved, loving, caring and aware of the power of human unity and connectedness. thank you for sharing this video!

All the best on your journey! Nuff love 🇯🇲
I am trying to learn Spanish the same way your mom learned English. I am lucky enough to work surrounded by the lovely language, and while it is going at a snails pace, I am much more successful this way then the traditional school learning of the language. My favorite thing is to pick apart the sentences I hear and see how many words I can translate in my head 🎶
La abuelita! Soy Colombiana pero crece en Nueva York. I love Puerto Rico too, my dad (who raised me but not biological) was Puerto Rican. The fact your grandma sought to break the cycle of abuse was incredible. Thank you for sharing these three amazing people with us.
Such a beautiful and very personal video. Listening to your grandmother talk about having raised her children differently than how she had been raised was very moving. I also had a very difficult mother who was emotionally and psychologically abusive, rather than physically abusive. I am now aged 63 and I haven't yet recovered, but seeing your mum and grandmother together smiling and laughing was reassuring that perhaps one day I will smile and laugh again.

Me encanta! Cuban here!!! I wish I had a video like this one, of my abuela. Generational trauma was also healed by my parents and I’m so grateful for that!!!!! My children now benefit from that blessing. I love your videos! I shown them to my daughter sometimes so that she can relate to you!
What a lovely mum and grandmum. Thanks for sharing.
You guys are charming and adorable. Blessings on your path together.
Paola, this video melts my heart. Thank you for sharing the people that you love!!!
What is very notable in these interviews is everyone is joyful ❤
My mom loves soap operas from Turkey too! My daughter says, she loves to watch along when she visits Nana in Miami. 💕
Your mom and grandmother are just so beautiful, easy to see where you get your grace and beauty. Thank you for sharing them with us!
Oh, the laughter makes me miss my own family so much. My mother passed away 11 years ago, and I miss her so. Even still. I have a new family in my husband of 7 years, and his mother. But, as C.S. Lewis once wrote: “ With my mother’s death, all settled happiness, all that was tranquil and reliable, disappeared from my life. There was to be much fun, many pleasures, many stabs of Joy; but no more of the old security. It was sea and islands now; the great continent had sunk like Atlantis.”

Paula & Paola, Paula, C.S. Lewis is one of my favorites! Though, this quote is unfamiliar to me. Is it before he accepted Christ? (Curious!) Also, I could not help but share that I do not regret a single second that I shared with my amazing parents! It is my belief that for me, the grieving will be life~long. As one once said, “Aren’t you over it?” My response was/is that I do not believe we ‘get over’ it. Rather, I believe we learn to live with it. My father to whom I was very close, was a Physician (Pediatrician) & his parting earth holds a sharp lingering sting. My hope is only to gently & thoughtfully encourage enjoyment of one another… while able! Oh the JOY! Blessed, powerful treasure!
3 generations of beautiful women - inside and outside - wow !
