It is true, contemplating death can be chilling! However, to contemplate life and death is a common daily practice for Buddhists and that suffering is a part of life. It is quite deep and central to the spiritual philosophy. It's basically just a Buddhist meme 😹

Earlier in the comments it was said that the monks do feed the cat kibble, and as owner of 4 cats, I know that cats accustomed to kibble are not very attracted to actual meat and fish. that's not surprised me at all because dogs are mostly like that.. my friend's gian mastiff are also smart enough to not stepping on bugs and other small creature.. but something like this happen to a cat, it's beyond unbelieveable..

What a wonderful story. And you can tell these Monks love their cat. Love it. Thank you Chef Monk for taking this beautiful baby girl in. And given her a wonderful life with you. Much love and respect to you all. ❤🙏

Love how the cat's eyes looks like it saw everything there is to see in this world and has attained peace and tranquility.

해탈보살님 극락왕생하시고 비록 고양이 몸으로 오셨지만 이 생에 열심히 닦으셔서 복을 많이 쌓으시고 가셨네요. 계속 해탈보살님 영상 보러 옵니다. 그 만큼 많은 사람들이 기억해 주고 따른다는 인연인가봅니다. 다음 생엔 불자들을 해탈 시켜주는 큰 스님으로 오시길 바랍니다.

어딜가나 땡중 개독같은 종교모독자들이 있긴 하지만 전체적으로 저는 기독교보단 불교가 좋더라구여 ㅎㅎ

김쑤 저는 무교신자지만 기독교는 참 아이러니... 모든 인간을 사랑하지만 동성애자는 죄인이구.. 하느님은 있지만 귀신은 없다라.. 참 아이러니 하네여

이런걸 보면 옛날 삼국유사같은 책에서 고양이가 불성이 깊어서 예불을 드리고 부처님전에서 경배하고 육식을 안했다고 저술하면 우리들은 에이! 이럴수가 있어? 다 설화고 뻥이야! 라고 했을텐데..21세기에 진짜로 이런 고양이가 있었단걸 전부다 목도했으니 대단한 일이 아닐수 없다,....

The Venerable Samu Sunim gave me the name Jeong Gí. I didn’t realize this temple was a Korean Zen Buddhist temple, I thought it was just a Zen Buddhist temple. But I would latter learn that it’s a temple in the Korean Buddhist tradition. So I liked how a lot of what I saw in your video looks familiar- even though I am not Korean, and live in Canada, lol. It was a heart warming video. Thank you. 🙏 😊
