Codie is talking about PEFs. A new book “These are the Plunderers. How Private Equity Runs - And Wrecks - America." It's about private equity firms, PEFs, which buy companies, then lay off employees and cut costs and services in order to expand profits. The ultimate goal is to sell off the newly acquired company in a few years, scoring a big profit for the PEF. They also do this with Nursing Homes. PEFs have savaged the retailing industry in recent years. You may remember the bankruptcy of Toys"R"Us. They are doing this with nursing homes too.

Owner financing is a great idea, Coffee industry, Mobile Food & Franchise ... 👍😉 My brother is in Commercial Real Estate, just sold a restaurant to the new owner's but they don't live in the area & their letting him manage it with the same employees. We thought about a few reliable individuals within the community that have their own mobile food business & let them utilize the restaurant for breakfast & barbecue in the evening and they can split the lease payments. The whole point to this is to help others within the community to be able to afford leasing the business between two individuals with two different ideas while the owner receives residual income and the business stays open.

when you have to take on financing as an owner..and take on the risk there is usually a REASON you have to do that. Real cashflowing businesses ( a taco bell on a busy street) dont do owner financing because they dont have to.

Best quote that I've heard in a long time. "I talk about getting money quick because it's a trojan horse to get yourself free. The more free humans we have, the better society we have." I'm sold.

Her advice sounds too good to be true. Also when you work in that area before you have a better understanding of the risks. Not something an average joe could repeat easily. I would stick to Steve’s advice about e-commerce. Buying businesses is something that comes later. My opinion only.

I agree completely! I like Steve's strategies because they are sound strategies. I trust Steve's opinion so maybe id give Codie a second chance but i agree with you that her strategy is better for someone who already has business experience

She was trained at a private equity firm, so she knows what she is doing. That's a big plus. However, it is still an option for people so still worth thinking about. But if you can't balance your checkbook, buying a business probably not for you.

Yup you two need to work together. your strengths compliment each other. Now, as for me am swamped with loads of business ideas (mostly on the ecommerce end) - because like you being around people makes me nervous. however, Hearing Codie made me have second thoughts. if i could start with something that could immediately bring in even $4000 cashflow i would be happy 😋 Thank you for this Info, really helpful

I dont trust Codie Sanchez. Her business practices are not very sound. Be very careful with her advice because a lot of business experts explain that her methods dont make good business sense. I remember watching a video explaining her laundromat purchase and the guy went over the numbers and said her claims are not possible.

Agree, she sound very convincing due to her speech skills but most of these "gurus" main source of income is social media or their bs courses they sell so you be the judge. "buy a company for 25K and offer the owner 25k/year to stay with the company" lol

  • @danf4447

in other words..the sellers time is only worth 25K per year!! from a business they are trying to get out of !! and they wont even be in charge ..and wont have a say !!>.omg what a loon. if you find someone like that run they are too dim witted to have a decent business

have you seen her books? audited financials? ANYONE can say they make (net profit?? gross?? ) 50 MM with no proof. ask yourself this: how many young people do you know not in tech who got rich young? and if she has so much money why is she spending her days plastered all over youtube and instagram? would you do that if you were making 50M?
