My friend's sister just passed from ALS on April 14th. Horrible disease. She went downhill very quickly after diagnosis. But she kept her sense of humor up until the end. At the end, she was there one minute and gone the next. Please donate.

What a beautiful person dealing with a horrible disease. My husband died from ALS 14 years ago and it is still difficult to deal with. He lived 9 years and walked until he passed. It started in his upper body first. I pray they find something to help, but first they need to find out what causes it.. Same with Parkinsons and MS, all neurological dieases.

I just lost my best friend Miacha about 7 months ago. It was heartbreaking. She lost her ability to walk a few months before her diagnosis.. Slowly, everything just started to stop working. It was like aging backward. She couldn't feed herself, dress herself, or get to the bathroom. It was devastating when she lost her ability to talk. She used a notepad to communicate with me as long as she could. Difficulty swallowing is what put her in the hospital. They did everything they could but it wasn't enough and she died. 😔 I miss her so much.

That there are no survivors is not entirely true. Jason Becker, who was a guitar prodigy, well-known in heavy metal circles and briefly the guitarist in David Lee Roth's band, was diagnosed at age 19. He is now (I think) 51 or 52 and not only still alive, but composing music. There is a documentary about him called "Not Dead Yet" and it's fascinating. You might also consider doing a segment about him. Yes, it takes a small army to maintain/sustain him, and he's the exception rather than the rule. But it's an extraordinary story. I'm grateful that this woman is out there raising awareness.

I'm surprised that after so much time since diagnosis that she can still talk normally. I saw a guy here on You Tube that had been diagnosed two years prior and he could hardly talk.

Sad that so many of those who can give spend their billions /millions on trying reach for the stars” . While so much needs to be done on EARTH. So many children dying from potentially treatable conditions if RESEARCH WOULD BE FUNDED. And same for other diseases including ALS. What’s wrong with humanity? Life does not matter, only profit matters. So wrong on so many levels.

We can ALL give. I give $25.00 per month to the ALS Foundation. That’s less than the monthly cost for a daily cup of Starbucks.

The true God loves us and never forgets us. He has the power to and will resurrect on a grand scale one day. Death is like a long and peaceful sleep. One that we will be awoken from. ❤ Im sorry to hear this news for this young woman and my prayers she will keep her positive spirit.

For every one dollar from the federal government that goes towards ALL medical research around twelve dollars goes to the military. Seems like we could do better.
