Wow, you guys are amazing! I just retired this past June 26 after a great 41 years of teaching! I taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd! Most of my career was in second grade. I am going to miss the kids, teacher friends and all the tasks teachers complete! I hope you upload videos all year! Your classrooms are top notch. Kudos to you both!

Wow 😲 that’s a lot of teaching!

My son is a Kindergartener. His school called their "meet the teacher" a back to school bash. It was pretty different than anything I expected. Everyone went downstairs to the gym. They gave us a pamphlet with 7 areas to visit. Each area had a teacher, principal, bus driver, etc & some sort of game, they also had a concession stand with yummy food which was free of course. So first we went to the station with my sons teacher where we signed next to his name & got a folder with all kinds of information. As we were leaving upstairs we stopped & bought his shirts (uniform shirts with the school logo). I really enjoyed the unique experience but I did have a couple of issues. I will also add this is a charter school. I was expecting to see the classroom especially since my son is only in kindergarten but I will be going to the school on the first day to see it & spend a short amount of time with my son which the school already said was fine. Now my big issue is when i went to meet his teacher I learned that my son may possibly have a different teacher, which I knew they had 2 different Kindergarten classes, but the second Kindergarten teacher wasn't there & my understanding is he hadn't been coming to the school & the other teacher wasn't even sure if his hiring process was actually complete. I use to work in a preschool & with less than a week until school starts i don't understand how a teacher will have the time to get their classroom complete & lesson plans done etc before school starts in such a small amount of time. Let's just say i hope he gets the teacher we met (& i was told that was his teacher). I will add that we're planning to move to a different county asap, out of the city, where my son will be going to a much better school. My question for you ladies is should I be worried about both the Kindergartener teachers being new hires? I'm not sure how long they have been teaching but I will be asking on the first day!

Watching this and missing my own kindergarten classroom! Our Back to School Day/Meet and Greet is the first hour of the first day of school...its a bit wild! We do a nametag/hat craft with the kids and parents when they come in, see whose who, and then the kids go outside to play while we show a powerpoint covering everything for the parents to know about kindergarten. Then the parents leave and go to a "Boo-Hoo Tea" where they get drinks and snacks while their child starts their first day of kindergarten! The rest of the grade levels do not do this, they wait until Back to School Night about 2 weeks later. Love your classrooms!!

I don’t have any meet and greet or open house at all all my school! I wish I did. I don’t meet my kids until the first day of school so I have to send forms home with them and hope they get to the parents! And our back to school night isn’t until like a month into school.

Do you have any of the forms you left on students desks available on TPT? They would be so helpful!

Loved the video!!! It’s my first open house/meet the teacher this year since last year I began teaching 6 weeks after the school year started which means I didn’t majority of my kid’s parents/families until parent conferences a week later.

Such an exciting time of the school year! I just had my Meet and Greet tonight in 3rd Grade! Even after 9 years of teaching I still get so giddy about meeting my new students and seeing their reaction to our classroom. Great job ladies. Best of luck this year!
