He isn’t a criminal and he knows what he is asking for is for all presidents. If there is no immunity, Obama, Clinton, Bush and Biden can be charged with the crimes they have committed. Be careful what you wish for.

When six of the nine justices have shown themselves to hold themselves above the law; when the chief justice has refused to set ethical standards; when members openly take politically motivated gifts from wealthy donors; when the court’s focus is solely on ripping away rights earned by blood, sweat, and tears, yes they are corrupt. And Moscow Mitch was key to this debacle.

That court is illegitimate, from Roberts, down to the last conservative judge. Bush bypassed historic tradition by directly appointing Roberts as chief judge, instead of one of the older judges already experienced in the court. The trump appointed judges are frivolous in their approach to this trial. This was nauseating, listening to them deliberately undermining our democracy, while making stupid jokes and comments.

I think it was Alito who asked about FDR's hard choice with the internment camps, that being held criminal may have weighed on his decision. PERFECT then he may not have done such a dumb racist thing... If an act is criminal then it's probably not in the best interest of the country - if it was, then (s)he could pardon themselves for the act and if it was for the best interest of the country then it would their pardon would protect against the criminality. That is such a corner case, the bigger worry is one party gaining control of one branch of the legislature therefore wrecking the impeachment process (as we witnessed in trump's impeachments) - allowing an criminal president to do what ever he wants.

45 is the only ex-POTUS who has ever asked for immunity that I know of. Why should this be changed? It seems he just wants to get out of trouble. He even stated he would change or get rid of the Constitution if he is elected. Being a President in my opinion you are looking out for and helping guide the people, not to jail and assasinate persons whom you don't like.
