DETAILS OF THE LEADERSHIP CHANGE:
Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, who previously served as the Director of Airport Operations, succeeded Engr. Saleh Dunouma as the Managing Director of FAAN in 2019. However, the Federal Government has now chosen to replace him with Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed, who brings extensive experience to the position. Mohammed previously held the position of Regional General Manager for the North Central region and served as the Airport Manager at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Furthermore, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Aviation Roadmap Implementation Committee in January 2022 by Senator Hadi Sirika, the Minister of Aviation and aerospace .
Throughout his career, Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed has held key positions in both government and private organizations. He has contributed significantly to the growth and advancement of the aviation sector.
WHO IS KABIR MOHAMMED / HIS BACKGROUND
Before his current appointment, Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed held several notable positions in different government offices and organizations. He served at the Presidency, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, specifically in the General Services Office and Ecological Fund Office from 1992 to 1994. From 1994 to 1998, he worked at the State House in the Principal Secretary's Office under the Head of State, Commander-in-Chief. Mohammed also served as a Special Assistant to the Minister of Environment in 1999 and later as a Special Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2000. His experience extends to various other roles such as Personal Assistant and Admin. Manager in different companies and government agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ACHIEVEMENTS:
Mohammed has undergone extensive training and acquired certifications in various aspects of aviation and management. He has completed courses on Air Transport System, Airport Operations Safety and Security, Airport Commercial and Financial Management, and Airport Planning, Development, and Environmental Management. He also received training on Airport Safety Management System Implementation and Airport Environment Management. Additionally, he participated in the International Visitors Leadership Program organized by the United States Government, focusing on Transparency and Good Governance. Mohammed holds a diploma in Airport Executive Leadership from ACI/Concordia University and possesses a Management Certificate in Civil Aviation from ICAO/Concordia University. He has received several other certificates related to aviation and leadership.
