Why are you protecting these racist guys? The former President Philip Schlaffer, who founded this club, confirmed that the club was bunch of racist. I'm a German and the term nazi is very missleading. The classical (neo-)nazi not really more excist, is more about race and "white"-culture. I’m curious as to how many of their members are military veterans. Their emphasis on discipline, order, structure, attention to detail, and camaraderie seems very reminiscent of the military. As a veteran myself, I can relate to the feeling of being “misplaced” when going back to civilian life, and the longing for that lost sense of camaraderie with your fellow servicemen, especially ones you’ve served on deployment with. It seems as that is what some of these men are looking for.

Like I said, I’m just curious as to how many of these guys might be veterans looking for that sense of camaraderie. Maybe Germany has something similar to the VFW, or other veterans’ organizations, I don’t know.

I only wish more time would have been dedicated to the "biker" aspect of their club, rather than every other nonsensical matter. They're interior decorators, expert chefs, they can decorate a food platter like no one else... and way down the line, they're bikers.

I lived in Wismar 8-9 years ago. I came across them a few times and had no problems, but it was very shocking to see them because of how big they were and how tattooed they were. Wismar is a town with a population, I would say young and from the area, quite racist. I remember several episodes, including one where all the Erasmus students were forced to leave the town for the weekend because there was a neo-Nazi congregation where groups from the north of Germany were coming. In any case, I recommend visiting Wismar, it's a beautiful city and it's not the typical image of a German city that we have.

My German dad shows up to everywhere 2 hours early and has literally never been late once in his life.

I understand why these biker clubs are looked into by the government. On surface, everything is legal. But in practice these people are basically organised military aged males. These people could take action in a civil war type of environment, and form factions. I think the idea for lots of these groups is to stay under the radar and legal, until "sh*t hits the fan" and then they spring into action. For example in Germany, when immigration goes too out of control and German government/police loses control.

In 2014, two members were arrested with 253g of cocaine. The former leader Philip Schlaffer was also questioned in this context.[9] On December 17, 2014, Schlaffer was sentenced to two years and 10 months in prison by the Schwerin district court for illegal drug trafficking. He had previously made a partial confession during the trial.[10] A trial of four other Black Band members in the same court also ended in prison terms, one of which was suspended.

A little update for those, who are interested in. Philip Schlaffer, the former president of the MC of this time, completely left the scene. He had a remarkable change in his life and works in violence prevention all over the country, especially in schools to avoid, that teenagers drift into the nazi scene. He speaks open minded about his past and you can see him in many videos and in the tv as well. He often felt shameful for his past. He really is a great guy, who got a second chance and does an amazing job to help others. It's a good example, that there always is a way out if you really want to.

It's very sad, unfortunately, Vice. Apparently there are no more technical or content standards at "Vice Documentaries". The audio is just so insanely bad that even freshman or school projects would do better. The topic is actually good, unfortunately poorly researched. The host seems unprepared, her questions just scratch the surface and in general it seems very unreflective. Even for a reportage in this style just very thin. Smashing Barrel well, i presume you don’t reside in germany so let me try to educate you. the smile and condescending tone can easily be recognized here. she is taking the piss out of them hidden behind a facade of kindness. notice how the mc members or their girlfriends respond - you don’t have to speak the language but tone is very clearly sincere and genuine. every point the interviewer brought up was presented as a “zinger”, a gotcha moment. it’s not getting mad about a smile, it’s the shameless denigrating way she was speaking. as if to children. i’m surprised they were so cool about it having talked so much about respect and receiving none of it. but then again, when german mc members are more civilized than a reporter that’s how you know vice is actually full of propagandist shit. schöner tag noch :)

I can't believe its been 7 years already since I saw this the first time.

Where the donning of Nazi paraphernalia by outlaw biker gangs in America all got started in the first place is very ironic. Motorcycle clubs exploded in the years that followed WW2 when some of the combat veterans returning home couldn't adjust to civilian life and gravitated towards living on the wild side by forming motorcycle clubs not sanctioned by the AMA (e.g. the "Boozefighters"). Bikers sometimes carried certain items they got off German soldiers they killed during the war, not because they were endorsing the very ideology they fought against but as "trophies" of war; i.e. Iron crosses, knives etc. By the time the 60's came around, the younger generation of bikers who most likely saw some of this stuff from the older WW2 veteran bikers, started carrying and wearing it and later expanded it to wearing swastika and SS rune patches and WW2 German helmets for the shock value as a way to intimidate and scare anyone outside their club. While some of them did it because they really were racist thugs, most of these guys donning swastika patches were doing it as utterly clueless bravado, completely insensitive to the high price America paid in the blood of our veterans to defeat a damnable genocidal demonic ideology. While you still see a lot of iron crosses and SS runes in biker culture, swastika patches are not nearly as common now as they were in the 60's and especially in the 70's because it's just too over the top for most 1%r's of today. Younger 1%r's of today are not as reckless, insane, belligerent and disrespectful as many were just a few decades ago (not all 1%r's were that way back then either). If you treat 1% club members with respect you'll be surprised at how polite many of them are. If you don't, you'll find out really quick why it's a mistake to disrespect them...
