    I agree, the lowest pay rate for a wildland firefighter here in Alberta is $21.08/hr

    creating a defensive belts around cities is probably the best defense, then let the fuels burn off. If the companies want to defend their timber stands, let them.

  • @Briebabcock8052
    @Briebabcock80527 жыл бұрын

    Look, what ya'll need to do is thin out the majority of timber stands like what we are doing here in the states. Hell, do what Sweden does. They have thinned out timber stands yet they harvest these stands, but they pick through them keeping them thinned out. Instead fighting the fires, thin out stands by calculating a natural number of trees per acre (which changes) and then do controlled burns and it'll keep the forests healthy and clean.

    Yes, well what you don’t understand about Canada (Stephen Grenoble) is that we have no common sense. See in Canada we give tens of millions of dollars to terrorists. and our prime minister calls himself a feminist. so don’t expect us to get forestry right

    I can only say this: We should pay attention for forest and trees ...If all forest burn we will burn rapidly after them..! Omg :-( I live in Alberta we had last night sleep bedroom like "Smoke House" I install double Filter on our INTAKE (air cold from outside)..!I suggested this to other people it will protect you from ash and smoke! OK I don't understand way they made "control fire"..??..more pollution in sky ...! What I think is better cut some "cutline parallel" in forest and divide section by section of forest easy to stop forest fire, use those cutting wood( lumber) ..! :-(

    Discontinued in BC in '05 because they were never deployed. The forests are generally too dense for good deployment too.

    We don't use them in Quebec either. It's densly forested and we rely on VERY effective communication instead. We haven't had wildland firefighters died from burns in a very long time.

    In the summer of 1999, I was involved in an altercation with Captain Robert David Taylor from the Richmond Fire-Rescue. After the incident, I felt that as far as I’m concerned, Capt. Bob Taylor can burn his way to hell the next time he fights a fire. For this reason, I have absolutely no sympathy, sadness, pity, or guilt whatsoever when I found out that he committed suicide as a result of PTSD on October 14, 2018. In fact, I’m ecstatic because even though this despicable fireman didn’t perish as a result of fighting a fire, the fact that he decided to punish him by killing himself is just as satisfying for me.
