I have two and they're the best thing that ever happened to me!

I love my hairless Chinese crested. His name is Eeyore because he looks just like him! I've never had a dog so sweet and affectionate. I've had a pomeranian and yorkie-poo throughout the years. Eeyore is by far the most loving. ❤🐾🐾🐶

They are just soo cute

@@Kati_k_kuriosz Thank you for mentioning this. Beauty aside, their temperament is the main reason I’m so adamant about wanting this breed. I’ve loved many a mutt and rescue dog, but CCs are special and worth preserving as a single breed. Their incredible combination of hypoallergenic coat, low-odor skin, intelligence, sensitivity, and gentleness are just as important as the head-turning punk-rock chic of their appearance with a pony cut. Currently saving up to buy one from the best breeder I’ve found, and hopeful that it will become a relationship of mutual emotional support. ❤️

I've got a little Powderpuff, Picabu. The lady we got her from said she was Maltese. Not. As she grew, we didn't know what we had, til I saw one on an old movie. :::blink::: that's my dog! Mine topped out at 5 lbs and while I loved and very much miss the animals I've cared for over the years..this little girl takes the cake.

Hairless is not for everyone but at a young age of 9 I’ve loved Chinese I’ve owned 2 hairless and 1 powderpuff and my fav large breed is Doberman and German Shepard I have a black 100 pound German shepherd and my two created rule over him

Are u away alot if u are that may be the reason they are very attracted to their owners and can't be left alone for long periods of time if so find a good doggy daycare u gotta give them lots of attention their very great dog's ❤❤❤

Ah, I want a Chinese crested, but I don't want to go to a breeder. But their are very few of this breed at the shelters around me and most of them are mixed with chihuahua (the only breed, probably the only mammal that I just don't like)

Some states have breed rescues. But, there is always a chance of not just Chinese Crested. I saw one at a rescue that was tall for one. Not sure if a mix. But it looked exactly like a crested.

There are actually rescue organizations on the internet! I totally get that you don't want to buy one. I adopted one and he's missing a lot of teeth, he still has some baby teeth at the age of two, he hates sunscreen and I have to put him through this procedure every day during the summer. He doesn't like wearing clothes but he accepts it since he needs protection and knows I'm not going to walk him in the snow without his coat. I would feel bad paying money to someone to buy a dog that's bred in an unhealthy way. I love my dog. But this breed is made by humans, and we are the ones responsible for every single problem this breed has. I would love to live in a world in which we bred for character and health, not for looks.

I have two Cresteds from certified breeders and they are perfect! Remember that dogs from rescues come from backyard bred dogs because they are not tested for temperament and health and may come with a ton of genetic diseases. Once those surface, the owners often can't handle the vet costs and give them away. That's why it's so important to support your local certified breeders. They do their best to keep the breed healthy and with as many teeth as possible.

Petfinder.com or facebook rescue groups. Go to a responsible breeder if you decide to, with health testing as they have health issues at times.

Be prepared for a lot of work keeping the powder puff versions coat tangle free and clean. These dogs are amazing but can be a lot if work so not thd right breed for everyone.

Very easy to keep them in pony cut if someone doesn't want to deal with the long coat. Mine is in long but not very dense, not a lot of undercoat. Upkeep is moderate - brush every day, bathe once a week and deep moisture conditioner or mask, once in two weeks face shave and sanitary clip. She is breathtakingly beautiful 😍. People stop all the time to ask what breed she is.

Did you socialize it well when it was puppy? All gods need socializing from very young age so they get used to people and other dogs and won't get aggressive. Tho some dogs just don't enjoy other people and dogs even when socialized
