Yeah, they have a lot of convergent evolution with dogs! However, they also have a lot of cat qualities and behaviors that aren't as often mentioned. Their grooming habits for example are like cats and they will groom themselves to keep clean. Their parental behavior is also like that of cats. They dig away their poo and then don't scent mark with urine the same way dogs do. They don't rely as much on smell for navigation and can see very well. Some also like catnip as you can see in this video.

Although we spent most of our ancestry with freedom and equality and certainly no leadership. The intact ecosystem being the only true boss needed! Our gift to the universe being egalitarianism. A definite move away from ape and chimp hierarchical society. Or rather their ancestors and ours. It's the gatherer hunting on the move that triggered our unique cooperation. Then a mere 7 to 10 thousand years ago we were sadly re indoctrinated into the ancestral style of hierarchy. The domestication of wheat and grazing mammals led to the creation of the first capital in the form of stored grain..something to fight for. to defend. to steal. Central organisation that springs from the nature of agriculture lends itself to god like elites and a huge servant class of workers for planting and harvesting. In between testosterone management kept the ruling elite in luxury and not usually attacked until their magic failed along with the harvest. The trick was to get farmers to start building...roads...canals ...temples to their fertility gods ...moving massive rocks kept the growing population focussed. As did warfare. The average Joe Bloggs lost out big time in the transition from freedom loving fiercely egalitarian gatherer hunters to becoming a cog in the ever growing wheel of farming. What with the military conscription. Drudgery of the plough. a raft of new zoonotic diseases and frightening plagues. Now you suddenly get a massive drop in freedom. obey or be punished. Huge drop in leisure time. longevity and height. The drudgery disease and diet made life brutish sad and short. With royalty came the elites population adjusting perpetual warfare ...between harvesting. Gatherer hunters had no leaders and no such wars. Neighbouring bands were friends and family and movement between free people was natural. The royals were just warlords really. An endless cycle of violence kept the farming building soldiering masses in poverty and subjugation. Th at is about the size of it. Given the freedom to choose people are friendly and cooperation comes easy. The ruling elite put much effort into mind controlling us to hate the enemies of the state. The recent arrival of democracy was a result of capital going ISM To also manage the barons.... it wasn't intended for the masses. In our hearts and minds and spirit humanity always craves freedom and equality . And community. 7 billion are far easier for a ruling elite to decieve than 70! The idea that we are still required to keep a tiny minority wealthy worked for 7 to 10 millennium . The multi billionaires who are self identifying as eugenicists plus they have a fetish for depopulation have gone CRAZY. Or rather they have seen they don't think their survival possible if we all continue this lifestyle that created enough CO2 to heat up the planet beyond the parameters of viable grain harvests. The Bilderberg AGM guest list take the existential threat of climate catastrophe seriously. They have realised their model of huge populations serving them has had its day. It's so last century to amass ever more money. Money can't save them or us from runaway heating Their perenial problem of holding onto power not just money has caused a paradigm shift within their gilded palaces and fortified mansions. They have been very busy building luxury underground bunkers. And these capitalist PREPPERS have plans to sit out the coming collapse of the techno industrial society. Some have ambition to go into low orbit luxurious hibernation Techno utopians one and all they put their faith and their profits into A.I. which is being entrusted to automate the entire lower carbon processes needed to operate a scaled down but technologically advanced system. They have been very busy planning a party.. You won't be getting an invite...along with nearly 7 billion others. After thousands of years and the rise and fall of a dozen or so grain based civilisations...This one is coming to an with their own made eco disaster far worse than the Mayans droughts The Sumerian super volcanic eruptions...of the many that are now occupied desserts or retaken by forests after a devastating PANDEMIC (!) This particular downfall of our current civilisation is set to dwarf all previous collapses which other than some super volcanoes extending out into decade long winters ..This disaster movie threatens to badly damage the whole planets atmosphere...we are possibly taking out huge chunks of the plant and animal kingdoms ...it's actually quite realistic the various positive feedback mechanisms that dangerously interelate giving way to such an Era of extreme heat that only extremophiles mostly single celled but perhaps multi celled wonders like the tiny but cute tardigrades or water bears who are very resilient by nature . The continuation of successful living communities is probably gauranteed at those deep sea volcanic vents named black smokers ...as long as these stable vents chug along and the ocean bio chemistry is not suddenly unfavourable or if warming keeps on until the world's water boils off into space where it originally came from. Of course not even the ingenious Bilderbergers can sit out the worst case scenarios ....on a planet where even the water is off being underground in luxury bunkers will make a top end burial chamber to rival the pharaohs. I doubt the DVD player or I mac will tell a future alien archaeologist much...not past a few decades. what if global warming just collapses our techno industrial grain based civilisation and the resulting famine and desertification kills all but 5 to 10thousand of us (that happened 74 thousand years ago causing a human bottle neck reducing our genetic variation )and when the pollution we pump stops...the resulting loss of "global dimming " rises global temperatures three extra degrees in just a few weeks ...temperatures which melt more of the frozen methane hydrates further inceases by methane which is far more of an effective greenhouse gas than co2 although shorter lived will raise worldwide temperatures..a lot. If all the ice on land melts sea level rises will huge...Greenland ice alone is calculated at 23 metres rise ...globally. If ALL the land glaciation melts including antartctica into the sea the level will be what ? 150 to 200m ?!... expect various knock on effects losing so much coastal land...most the world's urbanisations flooded a lot of the most productive and deepest top soils. After all the weight of the ice gone volcanic activity will increase especially earthquakes and tsunamis terrifying the few survivors once again. The land masses will likely keep up lifting for thousands of years. As today's ice free land keeps on up and up this long term isostatic rebound from when the last ice age ended causing a 430ft sea level rise around the globe. Possibly erasing much archaeology of previous civilisations if you ask Graham Handcock and his colleague and friend Russell Carlson (or something similar?poops! ) I'll gargle his name ...he's a very important Geologist..archaeologist. land whisperer ( my description not his) philosopher .stone mason astrologist historian builder.mythologist ...freemason.reader of symbology and an all round sciences teacher. He's your man for reading the landscape for mega flood events.Inflagrations from significant comets and on and on. off to check his name a check his online courses. THE END of part one

Homer would be so proud to see how much you've grown. I always think of him from time to time and wish we had home around for longer then we did! He was such a wonderful little guy!

I think of Homer a lot when watching the hyenas, reference or seeing them in the back ground. He was an amazing little boy and Kevin and Homer's love and relationship was extraordinary. Saddens me to this day and so many years have passed. I can only imagine Kevin's feelings. ❤️

It`s interesting to see how important an accurate analysis of the nature of each animal individual is to make such close work with wildlife possible.
