Meet The Breed: Boston Terriers, "The American Gentleman"

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Boston Terriers are compact, short-tailed, and well-balanced little dogs. The stylish “tuxedo” coat can be white and either black, brindle, or seal (black with a red cast when viewed in sun or bright light). The head is square, the muzzle is short, and the large, round eyes can shine with kindness, curiosity, or mischief. Ever alert to their surroundings, Bostons move with a jaunty, rhythmic step.
Boston Terriers are sturdy but portable, people-oriented, and always up for a brisk walk to the park or outdoor cafe.

My grandpa use to have Boston terriers when I was little! I would play with them when I was 4 years old, she's so right about them being good for kids. And I'm so glad she rescues and advocates for it, that's so important!

The Boston Terrier is one of the few breeds I've always liked but have never had any long term interaction with, they've always been friendly and fun. The Boston Terrier is a great looking breed as well.

We got our first Boston Terrier 11-1/2 years ago. He was diagnosed with an aggressive oral cancer a month ago. You can well imagine how devastated and heartbroken I am. I cry every day and yes, my life has been changed.

Bostons are the perfect dog really. Fast, smart, muscular, friendly and personality for days. Not to mention they are little alphas. My Boston runs circles around my bros German Shepards and they follow him like a pack leader

really enjoyed this take on the boston terrier. my husband and i have 4 and we rescued 2 of them. we take them camping and cook there food. i use to have other great breeds through the years but once i got my first boston, i was hooked. they are very personable , funny , and smart. i do have a red and white male who is 13 and is slowly going blind and deaf. It truly breaks my heart. He has to know where i am at all times. They are a labor of love.

I knew someone who had a Boston terrier; funniest dog I’ve ever met. The owners put a sweater on it one day and the dog did actual somersaults trying to rip this sweater off 💀

You gotta be choosy when picking your BT pup. I made sure mine wasn’t PUG style smash faced and badly bred like a pug and he has no breathing issues. Runs circles around my neighbors German shepards. Seriously tho they don’t all got breathing problems I’d buy one

If you're going to breed dogs the first concern should be health issues. I don't honestly understand short snout breeds. All wild canines have long snouts. That must happen for a reason.

@@gringoenespanol did you read my comment dude.. lol most peoples BTs are way too smash faced and poorly bred. But if you do 5% more effort in research your local Bostons… you’ll find one like mine who doesn’t have breathing issues and runs CIRCLES MY MAN.. around German shepards and any other small breed. I remember I slipped into the front door when my girlfriend was sleeping and i got back from work.. stayed as quiet as possible without waking my boy Boston terrier . I made it in the door quietly . The second I stepped into the bedroom and took a step towards my sleeping girlfriend . My man shot out from under the bed like a missle and was aggressively cornering me /barking for a second until he saw noticed it was me a second later

Not the one at my dog park, his temperament sucks. He has tried to fight multiple dogs including mine. My dog is the nicest dog I have ever had and I have to keep him away so he doesn’t send that terrier to the vet.

Oh man, that sucks. I always shake my head at owners who bring their dog to dog parks if the dog either doesn't get along with other dogs and/or the owner isn't willing to work with their dog. It makes me furious because I have had two of my service dogs get attacked by Dogs that belong to human idiots.

Sounds like a huge outlier cuz 99 percent of BTs don’t understand the concept of aggression . Also bro, don’t go to dog parks.. rookie move. Bring your dogs to a normal park early in the morning or late at night (nobody is there and my Bostons chase eachother to thier hearts content) yay private park… idk why more ppl don’t do this lmao

@@khanhhm5762going to dog parks in the first place is a huge rookie move. Go to regular parks early AM or late PM and nobody is there 95 percent of the time. They are bigger, more room to run and private for ur dogs to chase eachother to thier hearts content

@@anonymoususer2331 it sounds like you are the rookie, we go to dog parks for the socialization. They don’t get that in an empty park. Your percentage is way off if you think a terrier doesn’t know what aggression is you don’t know the breed.

@@billyboyd418 another rookie move… you socialize them when they are young, not old. Bostons sure are aggressive with chew toys you’re right about one thing at least. By the way there are dog fights weekly at dog parks. You’re an irresponsible owner for bringing them to a disease cesspool with aggressive dogs there . Putting your dog in danger
