    If anyone has stumbled upon this video in researching a juicer.. Let me tell that i replaced my omega with an Angel. Best move ever. Soft fruit juicing is a problem for many juicer, including the omega. Especially troubling is when you don't want ANY vegetables in the juice, and just one type of soft fruit. The Angel handles these soft fruits wonderfully. i was able to make kiwi juice with soft ripe kiwis with zero problems.. In my omega, even apples and pears caused huge backflow issues. Oh, Soft pineapples can be troublesome, because the produce lots of froth, but i learned that this isn't a fault of the juicer, but simply a function of the chemical makeup of a pineapple that makes it susceptible to frothing when crushed. So if pineapple juice is desired, using ultra soft pineapple isn't ideal. Anyhow, yeah, great juicer, highly recommended.

    Which Omega are you comparing it to? I've got one of the vertical ones from 2014 and I like how much time it saves compared to these horizontal juicers, but I've never had a double gear one like this. Does it go faster than the horizontal Omega? I had that one and hated it.

    Thanks so much for your observations, The FreeMelon Society! We couldn't agree more that the Angel Juicer is the very best juicer available. There is also a specially designed soft fruit extractor housing (juicing screen) made specifically for doing 100% fruit juices, which may help those who struggle a bit with juicing fruits.

    @@ElissaPancoe I can't say what Omega juicer model The FreeMelon Society was using, but juicing with a twin gear juicer is different to with a single auger juicer. The juicing process is a little different, as the food is drawn in between the two gears. All in all, a twin gear juicer is not necessarily faster, but is definitely more effective (i.e. you get much more juice).

    Do you use the normal screen for juicing soft fruits? When I juice a liter of apples there is always a lot of pulp coming back up at me. Now they even don't sell the silicon ring for the pusher in whole europe which would cost 5 Euros for a stupid piece of plastic -.-

    Hey, sorry for the late reply. If juicing only those fruits (either on their own or mixed together, but not mixed with any other foods), then you'll have the best success with a soft fruit extractor housing, since it is designed to doing fruit juice. You can certainly give it a shot with the standard extractor housing, as that one is perfectly capable of doing any food -- it will just mean a little more effort and perhaps some loss of produce, as it won't be extracting maximum yield. Hope this helps!

    Thanks for your comment, and apologies that we didn't reply sooner. As noted in a previous comment, the name of kale in this video causes just a bit of confusion, as the more common curly or Tuscan kale we see in the West are different to the Chinese kale (often known as Chinese broccoli, or, more correctly, gai lan) leaves pictured here. Each of these, along with collard greens are cultivars of Brassica oleracea, so all very similar. The paprika label is a little off, as it is indeed capsicum, as you have noted (although paprika spice is made primarily from sweet peppers like bell peppers). And, finally, deans is actually a typo of beans -- they are soybeans. Glad to know you love the Angel!

    @angeljuicers3406

    4 жыл бұрын

    @Kalpesh Takodara It's hard to say why your gears might have become scratched, but it's not particularly unusual. It's possible a bit of grit went through the juicer with some food, but minor scratches are nothing to worry about. Regarding the noise you're hearing with the soft fruit housing in place... Again, it's very hard to say what could be causing this without seeing/hearing it ourselves. It could be as simple as a piece of food squeaking as it goes through the juicer (not at all unusual) or it could be something else entirely. @Spartacus Ooi, the Angel Juicer is no more difficult to clean than any other slow juicer -- in fact, it is actually a bit easier than most, as there are less parts. The most important thing is to ensure the mesh of the juicer is always cleaned thoroughly and as soon as possible, to avoid build-up that can block the holes in the mesh. @angeljuicers3406

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@WolfBenjamite Thanks for the clarification. I'm not 100% on this, but I don't believe any electric juicer can also work as a manual juicer, due to the different mechanisms. An electric juicer is, of course, powered by a motor, whereas manual juicers are turned by a crank. Because of this, I don't think you would be able to have a manual backup/option on an electric juicer, as it would likely cause damage to the motor. My only suggestion, if you're keen on having a backup, is to purchase a manual juicer to just have on hand. One other thing I thought I'd point out is that, while you may be able to find a twin gear manual juicer, they are pretty uncommon for the main reason that hand cranking is just too hard when food has to be forced between the gears, which is why most manual juicers are single augers. They do make stainless steel manual juicers, though, so you can avoid plastic!

    Thanks for pointing this out and apologies for the confusion! In fact, it is Chinese kale that is juiced in the video, rather than the more common curly or Tuscan kale we see in the West, or, as you suggested, spring greens. Chinese kale is often known as Chinese broccoli, or, more correctly, gai lan. If we look into each of these leafy vegetables, you'll note they are all cultivars of the same plant, Brassica oleracea. Common curly kale is Brassica oleracea var. acephala and Tuscan kale is Brassica oleracea 'Lacinato'. Spring greens are Brassica oleracea 'Spring greens' and, finally, Chinese kale is Brassica oleracea var. alboglabra. Brassica oleracea also includes many other vegetables such as common cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussel's sprouts, collards, savoy, and kohlrabi.

    Masticating juicers like the Angel don't contain an actual press and are not a cold-press. There are two words in "cold press", and "cold" is only the first word. The second word is "press". If there's not press, it's not a cold press!

  • @angeljuicers3406

    @angeljuicers3406

    4 жыл бұрын

    @Charlie Wettlaufer, thank you for your comment. While you are correct in saying the Angel Juicer is not a true cold-press juicer, the term and its true meaning have diverged a little in the industry. To be perfectly correct, the Angel is not a masticating juicer, as that refers to a single auger juicer. As the Angel is a twin gear juicer, it is in actual fact a triturating juicer. The only true cold-press juicer is made in a hydraulic press juicer, which, as you say, is both "cold" and has a "press" system to extract juice. That said, the manufacturers of slow/low speed juicers began to market their juicers as "cold-press" quite some time ago, and the public's understanding is that "cold-press juicer" is synonymous with "slow juicer", whether it is hydraulic press, masticating/single auger, triturating/twin gear. After all, for those who don't understand the intricacies of each of those different types of juicers, as long as the food is not cut with blades, then the juice is "pressed" through the unit, whether with a true press or not.
