Thank you for contacting Health Careers. Your feedback regarding the video is important to us and we are grateful for your comments. Unfortunately you do not state from your message if you already work for the NHS, if so there may be support available from your own trust/employing organisation to help you to develop your career further. We would recommend that you speak to your line manager or HR/training department in the first instance. To work as a dietitian, you must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and in order to register, you need to have successfully completed an HCPC-approved degree. The minimum academic entry requirements for degree courses in dietetics are usually 5 GCSEs grades 9-4/A -C (including maths and English) and 2 A Levels (most require at least one science), or equivalent level qualifications. In reality, universities often require 3 A levels or equivalent. But you need to check entry requirements with individual universities as they vary. Degree apprenticeships in dietetics are also now available, leading to registration with the HCPC. You are employed (as an apprentice) by an employing organisation and study part-time to meet the HCPC’s pre-registration requirements. It is down to each employer as to whether they will offer degree apprenticeships in dietetics and at the current time there have not been any external adverts. You can search for apprenticeships in the NHS using the NHS Jobs website: www.jobs.nhs.uk and on the Government website: www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship. If you register with NHS Jobs you can set up an email alert so that when a suitable vacancy is advertised, you will be notified. You can find further information about being a dietitian, including entry and training routes, on our website at: www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/explore-roles/allied-health-professionals/roles-allied-health-professions/dietitian Best wishes, The Health Careers Team. 4716518

@@heva7672 You have to do either BTEC or A-levels. If you finish at 18, you can go onto a 3 or 4 year course at university. Earliest you can finish is 21 or 22.
