I’m the same I hate bugs I like snails tho I’ve had African snails and normal snails before as pets 😁

Millipedes look like super cute pill shaped bags filled with cuteness

Their little antennae and the bumblebee colouring are so cute. Solero is so tiny! I love their names too

When magnum started to like stand up it was so funny 😂😂

Wow 😯 I’ve never had a pet insect/bug. They are super interesting!! I just got 2 pet rats last night! Their names are Ratatouille and Remi :) You are the main KZreadr that I watched for information and you helped me so so much. Also, do my rats need to have bedding or are they okay with just a pee pad on the bottom? They are acting very happy with their new habitat so far so I’m not sure if I should change it.Thank you so incredibly much.

Some people don't use bedding but i think its a very important aspect of a rats life, it allows them to express their natural behaviours such as digging and foraging so i highly recommend putting some in :)

I’m excited to get my first giant African millipede. I have 3 leachies now in large naturalistic bioactive enclosures. Even when my leachies are hiding/sleeping I can enjoy the beautiful enclosures.

I also want to add how much I love their names!!! Magnum and Solero are perfect names! I'm so excited to see how they get on and learn all about them and I'm very relieved that they arrived safetly!!! ♥😂

I really don't like creepy crawlies but seeing you so calm holding them may just change my mind, with your calm and positive attitude! Thank you for helping change perspectives for everybody.

I add uncooked oatmeal to my soil. They don't really come out, so use a black light. I have a shallow water bowl & a hermit crab sponge. Everything else looks fine. 🐀🐾

This video is absolutely magnificent! We had millipedes in our yard when I was young. We've been in a severe drought conditions for 10-12 years and things that depend on the moisture either died out or migrated??? I love millipedes and gained the love for then TODAY when I got to touch them and now I’m getting some

I'm used to seeing the small common black millipedes here in Australia, but these are so fascinating! Little Solero is so cute and Magnum seems like a gentle giant.

They are sooooooo adorable!!

Oh, and make sure the water is not too deep for the small millipede to drown in- they should be able to just stand in it. Bug gel is also fine for millipedes unlike tarantulas etc

I make their food myself following the shunamite diet but changing a few things to suit it to mice :) I struggle with mouse food theres really no good brands I can recommend and theres not as much information about good food I can find

Millipedes need at least two times the length of their body for the enclosure and if you have more than one millipede you need even more space and I intend to add more in the future ☺️

I got a millipede today! His name is camel he is a rescue and he has mutant colours. I called him camel cause sometimes he hunches his back. I probably should take him to the vet about that….

You don’t 😂 the big one is always out and about though

I'd personally add a digital hydrometer/ thermometer, they are much more accurate and I've known the manual ones to stop working really easily but it's hard to see if they're not working or not! Also, remember to feed your springtails with springtail food or they'll eat your plants or die, I learnt that the hard way!

@@Emiology I supplement the one's in my crested gecko's tank once a week with springtail feed as he doesn't produce a lot of waste, however when I had Giant African Land snails, millipedes and cockroaches together I found I only had to supplement them once every three weeks as they produced a lot more waste so it really depends!

I give my milli a piece of fruit about once a week as supplementary foods. The springtails just eat that. I've had my millipede and the springtails for exactly 10 months and I still see a bunch of springtails in my substrate. And yes, millis poop a lot.

I know this isn’t directed to me but my rats chew through their hammocks really quickly. Also my boys are quite big so they definitely need something strong and sturdy to stay safe

As long as the material is strong enough to hold the weight of your all rats and is easily washable it should be fine.. but if they chew it a lot you should take it out as the could get their toes caught in the frayed fabric... I use a bandanna in my rats sputnik to make it warmer and they love it!

I'm SUPER late to comment on this, but I recommend Florida Ivory Millipedes, they are available captive bred in the US, I don't know about where you live. But my Ivories are SUPER active. I recommend having multiple of the same species, there is no way to really know how social they are but both species I keep spend a lot of time together, so I recommend getting more. Again, you can't ask them if they are lonely, and they are invertebrates, but still watching my millipedes interact with each other (which the floridas do all the time). You probably will never see this comment, but as a HUGE millipede fan I wanted to put in my two cents!

They're so cute! And I love the enclosure.

They are so cool. The big one crawling did give me chills though. I think they are amazing but I don't know what that many time legs would feel like on me. Lol. I am not sure if either of these are ok for millipedes because I don't really know much about them, but from my reptiles knowledge I think it would be really cool to add some isopods to the enclosure as well as a clean up crew and just something else to look at, a pothos plant, and maybe some other pieces of cork. The cork doesn't have to be cork rounds but I find it cool to take a half round piece and bury one side to where it makes a little cave. Again I am not sure if any of this would work for millipedes but they are just ideas. I can't wait to see more of them!

There’s springtails in the enclosure but apparently it’s not a good idea to add Isopod as when the millipedes are moulting the Isopods can injure them, I’m not sure how accurate this is but I’ve heard people say it so I don’t want to risk it!

They might need their substrate deeper it has to be the length of the largest and for the sides its double the length.

Ahhhh I love millipedes. I have one North American millipede.

I just released my millipede, after housing it for a couple weeks. Biter sweet, but I just didn’t wanna keep him locked up, and he needed to be in his natural habitat. I hope “he” lives and has a good life. He was pleasant to take care of.

Most invertebrates don't understand that they are "locked up". They will be fine as long as you provide a good-sized enclosure and proper care. Animals that you bring into your home could build up an immunity over time and shouldn't be released back outside. And if it's an animal that you purchased, you definitely don't want to release it in a random place since it's most likely not from that area...

Well, decorations and whatnot are mostly for the entertainment of the humans, not the inverts themselves. As much as I would like to own enclosures like these, I'm not crafty and I'm not a fan of decorating. If someone would prepare a proper and nice-looking enclosure for me in advance, I'd totally buy a pre-made one, but the price is also something to consider...
