Whenever she tries to chew on stuff she isn’t supposed to, redirect her to a toy or chew toy. My Great Dane puppy is 6 months old now and pick up quickly that she can’t chew on wires. Also buy a bell to hang by the door and ring it every time you take her outside and eventually she’ll start ringing it herself to let you know she has to go out. Look up Bell training and a good trainer to watch on youtube is Zak George! He has a whole series on puppy training from day 1!! Highly recommend!!

I would def get her used to the car while she's young! Not all dogs enjoy cars and it can become an issue when they're older :) so excited for u & henny!!!!

This is so true!!! I didn’t get my puppy used to the car and when I started making daily trips with him in it, he did nothing but cry. Some dogs just get car sick but for the most part, some just truly dislike the car.

It literally says so in the instruction manual that it needs to heat up first

I'm a vet nurse and my biggest tips are to 1. Introduce her to all of your friends so she can get used to people of all ethnicities, with different disabilities, people wearing sunglasses and hats!!! 2. Start brushing her now! She will need to be groomed and it's so important to get them used to it as puppies 3. This sounds weird but touch her everywhere. Touch her paws, her toes, her ears, everywhere, basically annoy her to an extent so she gets used to being touch and handled. 4. If you know anyone with dogs that are fully vaccinated, introduce her to them as a puppy. She needs to meet dogs of all sizes and breeds so she doesn't get scared when she meets them in the future. 5. Start clipping her nails!!! This is a big one, many dogs are terrified of getting their nails clipped because it wasn't done as a puppy. Overall, if there's anything you think you may want/need to do with her or anything she may be introduced to later on, do it now!!! When they're puppies everything is new and exciting but as they get older new things can become scarey You two will make amazing puppy parents xx ❤️❤️

In case you're wondering I have a dog that is completely hypoallergenic. He has hair and not fur. So the hair doesn't fall out at all. The breed is called Havanese dog. But they are small puppos. 😊😍❤️

So cute!!!! Being a dog parent is the absolute best! I have a australian shepard/border collie and he surprises me all the time with how smart he is! One trick I loved teaching him is how to use bells to go outside. You'd get a strip or bundle of bells that you would be able to hear throughout the house and put them next to the door. In the beginning, you'll have to ring them before you open the door to take her out but after a while she'll start realizing "if I mess with these, they let me out to use the bathroom." It was such a game changer with trying to potty train!

I’m so proud of all they accomplishments you have made in 2020 despite everything that is happening. You save me everyday and thank you for what you do for me, I will be forever grateful for you!

Our fur baby is 3 now but when he was a puppy we made sure to make him comfortable with us touching his ears, paws and face. This is sooo important because when shes older if she tries to eat or bite something bad you can grab it right out of her mouth without her getting aggressive towards you/ biting you. Same thing with the ears and paws! if you needed to use ear drops or something she will be comfortable with you touching her ears and not freak out. 👍🏼😌 Your lil fam is so cute I’m so happy for you guys:) 💓

I have a Labradoodle and they are super hyper and love to bite fingers, so it's so amazing that you have a trainer! They are such great dogs and super smart so I think you are going to be just fine with her

She is the cutest! I love how responsible you two are. After she is vaccinated, when introducing her to other dogs and before taking her to any dog parks, make sure that the first meetings are with well behaved and trained dogs. Preferably with ones that you already know. And socialize her with people too. Males, females, old, young, disabled, everyone. And as many have already said, touch her everywhere; check her teeth and touch her paws. Brush her a little bit every day and also clip her nails often. Teach her that you are allowed to take her toys and food from her. Positive reinforcement is the key. I'm glad that you have provided her with her very own safe space for when she wants to get away from all the huzzle and to just rest. You are going to do so well!

My sister and I got our first puppy in June and oh boy those first nights were rough! I did not expect him to cry that much, but he eventually got used to it. I would say with puppies, do not get mad at them when they don't get something. I have to remind myself he is just a baby and everything I want him to learn, has to be consistent on my end. It will come with time. I haven't gotten a trainer yet, we have been going off of youtube videos but its so great you guys are starting her off from day one. Good luck with your little pup! I know you guys will be the best dog parents! Much love!

oommgg your dog is so cuteeeeee... from my personal experience, my dog is super attached to our family like a lot and he does not handle it well when we leave even if it's for a day or two... and he has majorrrrrr separation anxiety so I'd recommend that you talk your trainer about how to avoid it because it's just the saddest thing ever when guffee gets sad because we can't even explain that we'll come back soon and there are some places that you really can't take a dog love you and congratulations on your 1M

I have an Australian Shepherd puppy (5 months). It's a lot of work at first, especially crate training, potty training, puppy biting, etc--but gets easier. With the smart breed, doing lots of training is key to having her be mellow for other parts of the day. Once she has all her shots, doing lots of walks and introducing her to dogs is also great to socialize her. Congrats, she looks like a sweetheart :)

So glad you got a trainer! I adopted one of my dogs and he didn’t need training, but for my second dog, who we got as a puppy, we started her with a trainer right away and saved so much energy and time, and made our house so much more relaxed! It’s well worth the time and money!! Love your new addition!!! Congrats on 1M!!
