MEET MY ANIMALS: Moving Cows, Horses Vlog | Join me as I take you on a quick tour of our horses and cows. Originally, I was just going to film a Meet My Horses Vlog, but when I found out we had to move cattle around to different pens, I figured let's show them too...I'm not just a horse girl! We have corriente/longhorn crosses that we use as roping steers for team roping. When I say the term "freshie", I'm referring to a yearling steer/heifer. They're called "freshies" (in the roping world) due to the fact that this is their first summer being roped. This year we have about 40 head of cattle, however, half are being rented out for jackpots/rodeos right now, another handful were taken out to pasture as "replacement heifers" (which means they'll become new mama cows next year), and that leaves about a dozen kicking around our place currently, It changes every year! I love our cattle and have so much fun getting to know their different personalties. Most are skittish, but some are super confident and enjoy eating grass & horse cookies out of my hand 🥰
