Meet Loki - an overly affectionate raven who likes to cuddle | SWNS

A filmmaker has become best friends with a raven - and says the bird often comes inside for a cuddle. The seven-year-old called Loki has grown up in captivity and now has a bond so strong with its owner that it regularly seeks him out for an embrace. Elliot Manarin was offered Loki by a breeder after its owner passed away - and initially discovered a spiky personality. But years of hard work, love and attention has seen the pair become best friends - with the animal even comforting the 33-year-old when his mum died.

Crows and ravens are weirdly crazy smart and amazing. I had a crow I rescued years ago that I became friends with too and it’s hard to describe to others unless they have been in that situation. I’ve never looked at Corvids the same since. I see a murder of crows making racket. I know that they are actually talking. Thinking, processing thoughts and calculating stuff. They have feelings same as we do not like most other animals in general are not afraid to show it like most human beings. Totally changed my perspective. I’m thankful for that experience and miss my buddy. Be nice to these birds out there because they DO remember you, and they will tell every single other crow or raven if you’re a dick. I’ve seen it. And they are prone to revenge if you really upset them. Even Magpies. Seen that while in England visiting a friend. Heard about a man and a magpie who had beef and the old man could not walk home from the pub without that magpie fucking with him. I made sure to see this feud, and that bird was angry for sure. Swooping down pulling his hat off. While he cursed and yelled and swung and kicked. Guess that old man belted a rock or something at the bird a decade ago just being a wanker cuz the bird was making noise and it’s been on going ever since. He sees the man on his way to the pub, he screws with him, on his way home same thing. Hopefully next time I go back if that fued is still ongoing I’m gonna make a short documentary on it for youtube. It’s hilarious. Crows are more skiddish but I’ve seen and heard stories of their vengeance before too. Such as shitting all over their car, dropping rocks on it, pulling the black rubber off the glass etc. I have even seen a crow making cat sounds outside a house where a guy left the kitty cat food bowl. If it was empty the crow would meow at the door and fly up onto the street light and wait. If the bowl was filled he swooped back down. If not he kept meowing. Guy said one day he figured it out because he heard his car meowing for food but it was on his lap! Hahaha.

Not gonna lie, i'm a bit surprised he took a name from Norse mythology and didn't name the raven Hugin or Munin x)
