Meet Cynthia Dixon - Medical Worker Turned Artist || Kawaii Drawing Club Member Story

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Meet Cynthia Dixon - a Kawaii Drawing Club® member. She couldn't afford art school, so life took her on a different path... but she NEVER stopped being an artist. And it's a good thing!! Because she is now happily drawing and selling her art online. 😄
"I've taken a lot of courses on Udemy and Skillshare... and they are there... they don't change. But your course and membership provide continuous learning ability, and I really do love that. It's amazing." -Cynthia Dixon
"I love that you listen to us. You ask us what we want, what we would benefit from, and you produce that." -Cynthia Dixon

What advice would you give your "younger" self in relation to art?

Hi, Tatyana - When I started with Procreate my attitude was "I want to be creative, not a techie," meaning that much to my husband's (IT guy) disappointment, I rebuffed his suggestion to take "classes" on how to use Procreate. I stumbled on your video looking for info on how to just make a "smooth" line, and your videos are SO helpful, with no overwhelming "techie" vibe, I'm so thankful I found them, because I had no idea what I was missing that's let me be even MORE creative. Now I can even more confidently foster that "inner child" who was afraid to let out her creative impulses. Thank you!

Hahaha, I hear ya! My husband is an "IT guy" too (and to be honest, I come from a techie background) and we often have... hm... debates on the subject. 😂 Wow, the part about fostering your "inner child" and letting out your creative impulses game me goose bumps. So powerful. Yes!!!!! Absolutely - having tools to use does not limit our creativity, but instead enables us to open more. I was quite resistant to digital drawing at first, lol. But now I see that it's letting me experiment more (and faster!) with character design, color variations, compositions, etc. And, I can quickly product "professional" designs!! So yes, so glad you wrote this comment. It made my day!
