Meen Pola / Meen Pathiri | Steamed Savoury Fsh cake

Meena pathiri/ Meen Pola
Fish Masala -1 cup
Rice -1 cup (roasted rice flour any , I have used Aami’s pathiri rice powder )
Egg -1
Coconut milk -1 cup
Cardamom- 1
Fennel seeds -1 tsp
Curry leaves -1 tsp
Water as required
Salt as required #
Ghee -2 tbs and shallots -1 tbs for frying
Grind all together to nice semi thick batter
Fish masala
Coconut paste
Coconut -1.5 cup
Shallots -10 nos
Fennel seeds -1 tbs
Crush and grind to a coarse paste . You need this coconut paste for both the filling and for the dough also .
For the fish filling
Marination
Prawns -1 cup
King fish or any fish -2 slices
Red chili powder -1/2 tbs
Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
Turmeric -1 tsp
Coriander powder -1 tsp
Fennel powder -1 tsp
Lemon juice - 1/2 tbs
Salt
Marinate all well and fry in coconut oil and cut into chunks
Masala
Onion -1 chopped
Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
Curry leaves -1 tbs
Green chili -2 sliced
Red chili powder -1 tsp
Turmeric- 1 tsp
Garam masala -1 tsp
Pepper powder -1 tsp
Coconut paste -3 -4 tbs ( coconut , shallots and fennel seeds crushed )
Salt and coconut oil
To coconut oil sauté onions , ginger garlic paste, curry leaves , green chili , add the fried fish and spice powders. Add the coconut paste and the fish filling is ready .
Preparation
To a pan add ghee and fry shallots if any , then pour half of the rice batter and add the fish masala , then add remaining rice batter and add fish filling . Cover with a lid and cook in low simmer fire till it’s cooked . Be sure to keep a pan beneath .
