Should there be a noticable rythmic difference between a [ double-dotted eighth followed by a 32nd note ] and a [ dotted eighth followed by a 16th note ] ??? I would make the difference known to the listener. Just my chip in, here.

Does bar15 to 18 shows '3' mean using position 3 to play
@DrYeraLeeViolinStudio

This 3 means triplets so related with the rhythm which is 3 notes in one beat. The number of triplet is Italic.

@@fastchineselearning607 In measures 15 to 18 the position goes up to the highest, in my case I can't go up much in the highs as I have less ease so I adapted a fingering that would comfort me in playing and studying.

So the f# is on the a string 3rd position?
@jb9652
2 жыл бұрын
Yep. That enables the slur to the following D (as opposed to playing the F# on the E string which would not enable the slur to the D).

Even if it's not the right fingering, I play with almost the same fingering as she did. Because I can't raise the position on bar 15 so I'm still studying, even if I can't raise the position higher I can't play a concert higher or I would play without 4 fingers.

My father was a fantastic Violinist. One of my earliest memories, I asked him to play one of his favourite pieces. He said "Ok, I'll play you something. But just so you know, you can only play this if you've had a life of suffering, and you've experienced life's lowest lows... I can play this, because I have been married to your mother for 20 years" This was his piece. 30 years later, I'm learning this piece. 🤎
