The soundtrack might actually be the best part of this game.
my personal opinion is that new god of war series is a reminder that once you choose the path of war and destruction, you'll never be able to leave that path fully

The game is of course a game that envolves fighting and killing, is a fictional history of a God of War, the embodiment of destruction, that now deals with himself and his past and the problems around him. If you think about t, Kratos and Atreus reallly had to solve those situation using force and destruction, but had it not been a game about stoping Ragnarok and a game about Kratos dealing with all of his trauma, he'd not touch his weapon a single time. He would've not needed to dig his blades out of his basement. And that's because in the end, after he had Atreus, after he engaged with Faye, he reflected upon what he did and that is shown troughout those two games. He regrets and regreting is a sign of backing away from something, in this case, war and destruction. Kratos is an example of character that got marked by war and will never let go of it, because it led him to what he is today, he won't let go not because he miss it, or want to go back, but because it shaped him and continues to shape him, is a mark, a scar, that is still healing and will fully heal with it's own forgiveness. War will not leave him. But he left the war. Well, at least imo.
