A knight armor had problems with stopping an arrow, it would have NO CHANCE against something even as simple as a 9mm Tanks would completely obliterate A dragon would be no match for a jet, being slower, bigger, barely manouverable and having a giant heat signature (the fire inside of it) would make it very easy to target with heat-seeking rockets Modern military would sweep medieval military in a day, they would probably even consider saving bullets to not waste as much ammo...

In the story the only thing that was a threat were dragons due maneuverability and armored giant orcs. Both of which are extremely uncommon and a non-threat with enough firepower. A city full of magicians would be promising but, oh no, they are now good guys and no chance of proving anything anymore.

Nah, i really think kingdoms would actually gain grounds considering the military structure in most african countries are not that established like the west or asian countries. The successful combine arms operations of the JSDF is to be reflected to the NATO combat doctrine, which mostly talks about synchronization by almost all branches of the armed forces. JGSDF alone did a successful job employing both army aviation, mechanized infantry, armored units, special forces, Anti-Air units and artillery units on one operation.

The fact its just the self deffense force💀💀

Eh Magic is a loose concept and varies a lot depending on where you take it from. Magic in GATE is a tad bit grounded and is able to partially compete with standard issue modern weaponry. While Magic in something like DC comics basically allows to you warp reality and alter creation on a fundamental level at the highest levels. Both are magic and are equally valid.
