No doubt about that. Another one that comes to mind is Knights of Honor.That one tried to combine the two,but the combination ended up being just lukewarm because they could not specialize enough in neither aspect. It isn't outright bad,but nothing to really write home about. Tough,in that game,once you become a superpower you practically get to play God. Which is kinda fun.

The first time I heard this was when I was attacking Jerusalem... my trebuchets were destroying their towers whilst the pre-battle music played, then I moved my enitre army forwards and this theme played. Was one of the most incredible things. So awesome.

I still remember the chills that this gave me when I was fighting the Mongols with Spain, and when my cavalry reached the flank charging at full force, with the cannons firing non stop when the trumpets started to sound, the musketeers firing and the cannons blowing the Mongols up and the sound of lot of horses running towards the enemy with every gunpowder gun firing was epic

when you routed 4 units in a chokepoint with 2 units of hashashim and 1 naffatun. Oh the satisfaction..

I love Broken Crescent. That is an absolutely wonderful mod. My only problem is that it doesn't have gunpowder units so you can't experience the full glory of the Ottoman Empire's Crack Janissary Regiments or their fearsome Monster Bombards. However, playing as the Ayyubids with their Elite Mameluke Cavalry is just awesome. Makes you appreciate the badassary of Medieval Islamic Armies and Culture.

Was like 10 at the time in which i got introduced to total war by my uncle and didnt understand anything but it still stuck with me as a core memory

Indeed. I am immensely proud of my Persian and Islamic background. One of my historical obsessions is the Persian Empire (the other ones being, the Ayyubids, Ottomans, and Holy Roman Empire/Prussia). But I'm glad that others can also appreciate the glory of the Persian Empire. The only Empire to survive for some 3000 years. But indeed, Egypt is quite an impressive civilization itself. Fascinating as Ancient Egypt, and Frighteningly awesome as medieval Egypt.

it's little bit old for today standards but it is still great

There's something badass about having this play while maneuvering a unit of Mamelukes to attack an enemy formation from the flank and watch them just steamroll through your opponents army.

But I honestly don't know what part of India(whether it's gujarat, the deccan, bengal, etc.) I'm not a regionalist, just a nice mapper-gamer. Do you know how to mod Medieval II? The only thing i "modded" was the timescale to 0.5 (6 months per turn) and i unlocked all the factions including the Papal States, the Timurids, Aztecs and Mongols aren't unlockable apparently.

well; im the total watr games, ranged cavalry will continually keep distance from enemy pursuers whereas melee cavalry willjust stand thre, melee cav i reservefor harder hitting strikes at an entirely different spot. and also one might mix up orders, to move both horse archers and lancers as a selected wole means that to attack enemies causes the lancers to charge, but the infantry defending the foot archers will chew upp the lancers as well. its mutually supporting units

Of course, An arabic themed Soundtrack gets all the Muslim players battle crazed and makes them try screaming out their superiority over Europe in israel. How cute! (Good music though, I'll give you that.)
