Great review! The first one in english. For me this is a MUST. Only because it's the only articulated figure at that scale that holds up true to the alien desing. Everyone else including neca with their latest Ultimate big chap, make the head proportions wrong. Actually no one seems to get it right. But this figure captures the head design perfectly.

@@xenalien355 assuming the mezco version rubber will hold up. judging by the fact it's not even silicone, but a biodegradable type of rubber. I feel it will have problems in the near future. there is also a problem with the joints requiring damaging the rubber to be able to fix any loose parts.

​@@xenalien355 Its already falling apart to a lot of people, articulation is very limited and the skeleton is destroying the body, its also losing color, yeah mezco took a big L this time, they should have made it similar to predator. That figure slaps

The paint job on mine is a lot more uniform to the movie, but my joints are absolute garbage and pop off easily. It made me wonder if it was KO, but I bought it from hobbylinkjapan.

No the xenomorph is more of a blackisch colour with green accents not a fan of needing to remove jaw and put other one in I love mafex but it's just not a good release for me

It’s so stupid how have to change the entire lower jaw just to get that inner mouth visible. It could’ve been portrayed with just a simple hinge joint.

I'm glad I decided to preorder the newer NECA version instead. I like the paint on the NECA figures better personally, it's just overall better for your value IMO.

VS how the suit looked in real life, it's the second best there is (Kotobukiya still is the king, but it's not a figure) It needs a slight repaint though. The green areas should really be a washed-out brown on black.

It looks good but way too pricey for such loose joints. A shame.

The hands are design to replicate the pose used in the movie and another one used in prodction for the movie.. Can't remember wich was wich. Also with the head. The shape of the skulls eyes changed during production and filming, and they have both versions

A little beauty..Perhaps a bit expensive but with those articulations it would be great for Stop Motion..Cheers, Ian

That’s a shame about the dome not being seated. Looks like it would fall off if the figure was posed upside down. Beautiful alien figure though. The articulation is mind blowing on this. Almost reminds me of the sh monsterarts. Thanks for your review

I also fixed one of my domes with a little loctite. I don't need to display it open anyway. THe dome is pretty pliable so it fits the contour of the head sculpt well with a little help from the glue. My other dome came in perfect so I didn't glue that.

i was almost gonna order this but i saw beca is releasing a 40th anniversary version. this has some good articulation though

Is the black of the dome painted on the inside or the outside?

Loose joints? Canceled preorder.

Place a Coke can next to your stuff for a good size comparison.

Yes, I hope my order will arrive soon. Can't wait to put it next to the Figma and Bandai version on my shelves. Mafex figures always seem to be on the more loose side. Have you also pre-ordered the new big chap from neca? I wonder how it will look next to the more pricey figures from Japan.

I do have that on preorder. The figures from Japan are pricier, but typically have more detail.

@@HorrorMonsterCollectibles Yes, even though I am not that happy with the Bandai one ... as much as I can't be happy with a big chap xD ... so I am still pretty happy with it. I really like that the license for Alien is not exclusive and that we get so many takes on this legendary creature.

@@HorrorMonsterCollectibles I got my Mafex Big Chap today and am very happy with it, like you said it may be a little bit to pricey but I have no regrets. So far the Figma one is my favourite from the Japan imports.

Great review I have the Figma version, I hesitate to buy the Mafex. Can you tell me who is the best between both ? Thanks in advance

This one looks far superior probably the most accurate big chap in figure form

I don't get why many people are the opinion that this is one of the best Big Chap figures, Neca's Ultimate Big Chap looks far better imo, better looking paint, the joints less visible, with facehugger, chesburster and egg in the set, for like half or a third of the price of Mafex. Totally looking forward to MEZCO's Big Chap, which hopefully soon should get shipped

Thanks! Yes, I would recommend it. NECA has had a few little problems here and there, but are typically very good for the price.

A thin coat of super glue or nail polish might help with the loose joints. Or would that not be enough?

It may help for most, but there are some very loose joints that it might not work on.

Yes the joints pop out easily. But so what? Be more delicate and considered when you pose this sensational figure. It might actually teach a lot of people how to pose properly without being so impatient and heavy handed. 10/10 Amazing.

Great figure looks a bit like the revoltech. Why cant they do them on a bigger scale though ??

They do. Its called NECA. I'm glad to get a 6" scale alien to mix with 6" scaled figures.

My joints are OK but the dome won’t stay on.

Have you seen the mezco and figma ones? If so, What do you think?

They are not bad for the price. I don’t have them, but from what I’ve heard, overall they are good.

You con do a repain on this toy if you want to.

What is the size ? and is the tail bendy?

If I remember right, it was 8". And yes, the tail is bendable.

Medicom toy has released a new big chap that’s on sideshow for 900$. I think it’s supposed to be 1/4 scale or something.

I don't really like this figure because it shows a lot of Big Chap's skull, other than that he's incredible

I do not remember the xenomorph being that green in the movie in the movie he was like black with the slightest tone of brown

Yeah, there were a few misses with this.

IMHO....the Big Chap by Takayuki Takeya/Figma is better and it's less expensive.

@@HorrorMonsterCollectibles Figma version joints are pretty loose @ at only 6 inches tall it's scale is way too short for a 1:12 figs scale display (movie Alien was > 7 ft. tall). NECA Alien figs are 9" tall so too tall for a 1:12 figs scale display. This one's height is just about right on a 1:12 scale. Agree the price is too high as the accessories are just OK IMO as NECA Ultimate release accessories are generally more & better IMO.
