As an avoidant my biggest fear is medication will have bad side effects. I fear my personality becoming flat like Britney Spears, sexual problems, suicidal thoughts or not being prepared for the uninhibited personality that comes out. I feel like taking meds is turning the keys over to someone you don't know.

Same. I feel like I won't have control over my thoughts or actions. I'm already doing bad so I'm not trying to find out what worse looks like

When I was six years old my stepmother left me in a doorway with a note saying not.....

Medication effects don't last then you're back at square one, only now you have the journey of getting off them dealing with the side effects of withdrawals..... where i am at, at the moment. They did work initially but i was never happy taking them which will never work lomg term which might be why they didn't work in the long term for me

Your medication aint gonna help anyone with AVPD unless they are stoned out of their mind.
