This was the best explanation of the med pass demo. It's even better than my RN's training yesterday. I'll be watching this so many times before I go. ❤❤

You did everything right except for when you said to the tester you locked the box remember it s a controlled substance you have to say that you put the box back in the cabinet and also locked the cabinet i just fail my test just for that please add that to your videos that would help a lot of people thanks.

Also, never pop multiple patients' medications at the same time. It's too easy to forget whose medication is whose. Trust me, it's not worth an MOR/Med error.

some nurses will fail you if you dont say your wash your hands, and clean the area. They will also fail you if you dont call out the strength of the medication. I guess some nurses very picky and they will fail you for that.

The medication can fall or hiden by the client. The count could also be wrong by this possibility.

Does anyone have any advice for the knowledge test? I took it once and scored a 78 out of 80 percent needed. I have studied the book multiple times and still don’t feel ready.

once a teacher told me to study it at 4am. like sleep well at night and wake up at 4am or 2 to 3 hours before the test. your brain will get more knowledge in.

I just my med pass in rha by knowing the six rights, reading the MAR correctly. 1. Wash hands or sanitize 2.Prepare water, cups, applesauce, pudding 3. Mar 4. Always have the key with you. DO NOT LEAVE IT THATS A BIG NO NO 5. After washing your hands and prepared what you need to give. 6. Get the key lock the door 7. Get the person 8. Tell the person the meds purpose for ex. Depakote is your seizure 9. Sanitize their hands and have them patch their hands or hand over hand assistant dont forget to sanitize your hand 10. Compare and contrast look at the mar. Know the six rights: Person, Medication, dosage, time, route, and documentation 11. After that initial after their drink 12. Sign the back as the documentation

Is this for a Nurse? I'm a DSW1 and I've always remembered it as 5 rights. We never considered documentation as a right. Compare Pharmacy label to Doctor's Order. Compare Pharmacy label to MAR. Check. Check. Pop. Check. Give. check. Make sure the medication was swallowed (if route is by mouth)Observe 30 mins to an hour for medication effects. Initial and Sign back of MAR.
