The CPU performance inside a SoC is not so important anymore. Even a 30% difference is not going to be that noticeable. The OS, drivers, storage, and connectivity are a lot more important for a fluid experience.

@Lifu CPU performance is pretty important because playing games like pubg mobile people want to have the highest frames 60,90fps so what they do is they have the lowest graphics settings applied and which intern stresses more the CPU than the GPU so I'd say Cpu performance is important if u play competitive games, and have better low 1%fps but there's a catch and it is performance throttling.

The battery drain difference in this test has nothing to do with that. Percentages drain faster when they are close to 100% and the k50 pro started at 99% while the 12 pro started at 97%. I both had started at the same percentage the k50 pro would have won

Sadly mediatek/exynos chips aren't so popular, people are more into sd8 chips and tensor chips which for the average consumer is a great option also because of the community for SD chips
Makes me shiver to think that Mediatek was not even that optimized yet with the apps. Dimensity is becoming a monster. It's just the app optimizations that made the difference on Snapdragon, further proving that Dimensity is much better.

Great video, but i can’t really say its a fair comparison if you are using two different devices (not much of a choice), since the performance of these SoCs varies with each device. I really hate this, but for comparison the best example would be the Exynos and SD versions of the Samsung S22 ultra. great job bro, give us more video like this😊🥰
Heard about the current circumstances in China hope you doing alright 👍
You started both with 100% battery though, why you only started counting after Xiaomi just dropped 3 percent. It's only logical that K50 Pro would follow up dropping those percentages too afterwards. So K50 won with 6% compared to Xiaomi 12Pro's 8% battery drain. Besides who does tiny battery tests and gives info from that? The margin of error is almost bigger than the test itself 😂🤦🏼♂️

Redmi wasn't supposed to win this remarkably. Not only Snapdragon is more optimized, since it has been in the market for a while now, Xiaomi is much costlier. It simply shows the potential of Dimensity 9000!

It is a very powerful chip, but almost nobody cares about optimizing software for Mediatek chips. Especially custom ROMs basically only run on Snapdragon and Tensor powered devices, because their communities are just huge compared to the few people using Exynos or Mediatek chips. So if you want to be tinkering around with your software a lot you either want a Google Pixel or another Snapdragon powered smartphone (that also allows bootloader unlocking like on Pixel, Xiaomi, OnePlus, etc. devices).

Nick I was waiting for this video and it is very informative but, I am tired of seeing the same phone using the dimensity 9000. Without AnTuTu benchmark, you can't jump to the conclusion. SD 8 Gen 1 throttles on full load and not just that heats the device up but also compromises on performance

Before anyone start blaming Qualcomm for inferior chipset or samsung for inferior fabrication process. Let me clear one thing, most of the TSMC's 5nm EUV machines are already busy making Apple A15 and M series chipsets. Mediatek managed to get some of them. But how many devices will you see with dimensity 9000? Mediatek still gona earn most from mid range chips. And Qualcomm knows that every flagship going to ship with snapdragon inside, so to keep up with supply, they shift to samsung Fabs. Also Qualcomm wanted to put as many as 768 shading units in GPU to make it efficient and powerful, and charge premium on atleast one feature. So samsung did a great job for supply and alternative to TSMC's in times of chip shortage. Mediatek on the other hand also wanted to produce as many chips from limited amount of wafers. So they cut down the shader units to 640 and decided to be efficient while losing a little performance. But they keep the price lower than snapdragon by doing so. There's an old saying - REAL MAN HAVE FABS. Apple is the one who have invested a lot a TSMC and have best relation with it. Not only that Apple on purpose waste a lot of silicon wafers. A15 chip has 32mb of L3 cache, that's even more than desktop 12900k CPU. There's no need for this in iPhone, i guess that was just to increase die size and create shortage of leading edge node in market. Apple is single handedly controlling market. THANK YOU!
@notagain2856

True, TSMC's whole 2022 production is already taken up mostly by Apple and a small percentage by Mediatek. The Dimensity 9000's slow release also due to the production constraints. Its still a small miracle that QC managed to get production slot for 8gen1+ from TSMC, but I suspect the chipset will be more expensive to produce than using Samsung's fab.
