I really hated the gross humor in this movie; at least in The Grinch, he was an antisocial creature so the gross humor was more befitting to him, here it feels like the producers just said, "Well people liked it in The Grinch, surely it'll work here, right?"

I also hated the Cat's personality here; when I think of the Cat in the Hat, I think of a personality like Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka, very suave and elegant with a certain spring in his step, not this creepy jackass.

There have been ideas for this live-action/animated semi-biopic about Dr. Seuss in which he actually interacts with his characters and he would be played by Johnny Depp. I really believe that if this movie does happen and it's in the right hands, it could be amazing. Fingers crossed!

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT HAPPEN! ESPECIALLY AS A DR. SEUSS ANNIVERSARY MOVIE! And with how far technology has come with intergrating cartoons into the real world, I can see it actually being pulled off very well! It just needs the right writers behind it in order for it to succeed!

Oh God, I knew this movie was bad but this... wow, I'm speechless.

I love the many reviews of this cinematic train wreck, and this is a unique perspective. Coming from a cat partisan it offers a view of the creation that wants to be positive but overlooks normal positivity to give an unbiased review. Also, personal hobbyhorse, but the oversized cat-thing moment didn't click with me. In fantasy, sci-fi and speculative fiction works I accept sapience as the sole necessary checksum for interpersonal interaction. Otherwise we'd need to have a crusade against folks who cavort with elves, Vulcans, Klingons, Khajiit or who think Wanda is very nice eye-candy.

And you thought this was terrifying nightmare fuel, well Cats 2019 is ten times more nightmare fuel than this.

Some of scenes in this movie were i kinda find funny

This movie felt more like an extended SNL parody than an actual adaptation of the book.

Honestly, would Joan really think that Conrad and Sally destroyed the house how it was after they closed the crate?

I remembered this coming on abc alot when I was a kid and my mom would see me watch it but never stop me... Why didn't she stop me 😭😭

It's worse than that. It's like somebody saw "The Grinch", then watched "Beetlejuice" and decided to combine both styles of humor without understanding the tonal harmony that made them work.

How about reviewing Barneys Great Adventure The Movie, and more of the Tom and Jerry movies?

The tie-in books are far superior, since unlike this waste of space, they are drawn in the style of Dr. Seuss’ books, don’t have the stupid innuendos or toilet humor, and they actually remove the equally terrible villain.

The opening logos were the only good parts of this movie

Yes, it's seen as a bad movie. But even so, it is actually the highest-rated film by Vanguard Animation besides Gnome Alone. Then again, that is a LOW bar.

And Jim Carrey playing The Grinch in How The Grinch Stole Christmas! as well as Horton on Horton Hears A Who!, these r stull already 2 Dr. Seuss movies for Carrey 2 star in.

If you think that's bad, Kohl's had the Cat in the hat book redone to be more accurate to the film.

Coming from someone that loved Chicken Little when I was young, but even as a kid, I despised this movie, my younger siblings loved it when they were younger though. When we went to the theaters, I wanted to see Brother Bear instead of this (we saw both but I wasn't happy to see this at all).

My mom loved the original book when she was a kid and I loved the book when I as a kid too. And we both saw this movie in theaters, and it's funny back when I was four years old I knew it was a HORRIBLE movie. And me and my mom were both disgusted by it's adult humor and the movie should have been rated PG-13 instead of rated PG! In fact, in my mind this movie is rated PG-13 and was the first PG-13 movie I ever saw when I was little. And the cat looks absolutely nothing to the original one in the book, and the costumes for Conrad and Sally are horrible and the same goes for the other human characters. The CGI looks like a video game and it the movie even pauses to promote Universal Studios, and the cat gets horny over Conrad and Sally's mother (RIP Kelly Preston) and that midriff girl (her name is Ginny). And the cat's personality is nothing like his personality in the book. He is sadistic and vile, and even revealed to plan the whole entire day by getting Conrad and Sally almost killed for God's sake! And I don't blame Audrey Geisel to not allow anymore live-action adaptations of her husband's work. It does not do justice to Dr. Seuss as Dr. Seuss is one of my childhood heroes. It's like the writers were like "Fuck Dr. Seuss! Let's just give him and Audrey Geisel the middle finger by ruining one of his famous books and characters of all time". And it ruined my mother's childhood! And it ruined my love for the book and the 1971 animated special. But I'm looking forward for the upcoming animated reboot which will be a MASSIVE reboot over this atrocity of a movie.

Hey Media Hunter Reviews I really love this video so much because the cat in the hat because it my favorite movie and i love it so much because it so funny and laugh at it all of the time and i love the cat in the hat movie so much!

Is it bad if I mildly like this film? Like I in actuality it’s a horrible film that’s a horrible adaptation of the original book, but like I have a decent amount of nostalgia for this movie, and if you forget it’s a adaptation it’s a pretty good time watching this film.
