I just bought one from a small shop in ft Wayne. My grandson is going edc it for a while . Fit, finish and sharpness were all very good . Your review was very timely. At that price point its a decent buy .

Great knife,owned mine for 2 months,my go to carry.

I didn't know Medford made knives that small. I like the rough look of the blade grind.

Additional: I missed the point you made at the very end and I want to share how that very idea had a profound effect on me. Had I not bought this knife, I may not have taken the next step towards the evolution of my knife collection. I loved this knife so much that I wasn't hesitant to get the Medford 187, which is my favorite knife. I have since purchased a Sebenza, Alliance Designs Laconico, a Brian Nadeau micro Typhoon, a Spider Monkey, a Terzuola, couple Three Rivers Manufacturing knives. I wonder if I had limited myself to Civivis and Spydercos, would I have experienced the production quality of knived that teach into the mid tech range? Perhaps not.

The 187 is such overpriced shit, like all of Medfords knives. I'd take a cheap spyderco over any Medford any day of the week even if the owner wasn't a racist geriatric pedo

Love my smooth criminal, but I have noticed some scratches on the plunger where it engages the flipper. Kind of a bummer, but I guess metal on metal will do that

Thanks for the review. I feel I get more bang the buck from other brands at this price point, particularly in terms of looks, feel, and general aesthetics. Are they well built with tight tolerances? Certainly. But I can't rid myself of the feeling that Medfords are simply over priced sharpened, folding prybars.... LOL Same is mostly true for Emerson, as well. As you say, we spend our bucks for what we value, collect and use.

This video is old so you have had definitely time to see a lot. What would you recommend over Medford besides CRK? Spartan?

With covid now its not easy to walk into a store and say can I try out your medford please. And I thought the benchmade Osborne was expensive.

I just received this knife yesterday, and I can not flip it open without pressing the button lock. My 3rd MKT, it's far and away the bottom of the 3

I love the knife but needed to send it in to adjust pivot and remove clip. I broke the law and did it myself. perfect one and done knife for me, smallish edc, robust blade and handle, short pecker is not deal breaker. a fidget dream like the adamas, perfect ergos.

I think you would say that it's a beefy knife - like many of the Medfords.

I love everything about this knife aside from the terrible detent. I don't even know if that is something that can be fixed. She feels great in the pocket, nice and sturdy despite an aluminum frame. The grind is gorgeous. Fantastic EDC size, legal in most places. And the bottom lock is nice and fidgety.

My go to carry. Except today. Shf in pocket today.

My first 2 medfords arrived yesterday. Got a Proxima and a Smooth Criminal. The Proxima is fucking incredible (I'd hope it would be for $760 lol) everything is perfect on it except for a very minor scratch and possible chip on the non-lock side scale but they're barely noticeable. On the other hand, I'm surprised how off center the blade is on the Smooth Criminal...I'm debating if I should send it back.

So I looked up the cheapest of medford knives and found this model. At 500$ in my country(Canada) . Thats the lowest price model I can buy to see if I like it. With something so expensive I wish I was able to handle the knive before purchase and open and close it a few times to see if I even like it.

i have one badass lil blade,, its very pocket friendly!!

Frustrating to have sent this knife twice to mkt and gotten it back with considerable blade play each time, worth a third? Probably not

These are actually going for $325…starting at $325. Not sure wtf Complex is talking abt sometimes. How can he rave about this thing when it barely is even flippable, let alone able to be fidgeted with. The mordax and even the Malibu are flat out just way better knives. Also made in USA, with aluminum scales, better edc, infinitely better action, and has 20cv

Medford has fixed the action on these Smooth Criminal knives. I got one recently and it flips great. Very tight for the first few hundred flips, but it flips perfectly now. I wouldn't want it tighter or looser, it's perfect.

Medford knives aren't good enough to deal with Medford's bullshit.
