Hi girl. I know you probably expected an answer from Andy, but since it's been 3 months, I might as well reply. I'm currently a first year student studying occupational therapy at UCT, and what I can tell you is that there is no nursing at UCT. In the faculty of health science you can study medicine, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, audiology, and speech and language pathalogy. Nursing is a very demanding career. You really have to be passionate about it. Don't study nursing or any other health science degree for the money, you'll be miserable for the rest of your life. If you're a very kind, empathetic and care about people then you can apply for nursing or any other health science degree.

@Buhle_Ndlela Google UCT's prospectus for 2025. You can also Google the degrees that are in the faculty of health science at UCT. Watch KZread videos. Also, apply in other faculties you might be interested in, not just health science. Your second choice must be your second passion that can either be in health science or any other faculty. I would also encourage you to search for which jobs or degrees are in demand in South Africa. DO PROPER AND THOUROUGH RESEARCH BEFORE APPLYING. Of course, I don't expect you to have it all figured out in grade 11 or in grade 12. Even though I am a first year, I'm still trying to find myself and where I belong in terms of a faculty. I might graduate in the faculty of health science or any other faculty, only time will tell. With time comes clarity and maturity. Don't stress, you don't have to have it all figured out. All the best. Please give grade 11 your all as it is more important than grade 12 when applying to universities.
