THE STAGE
With a golden age of cooperation and advancement now a distant memory, humanity has once again splintered into disparate factions all vying for supremacy.
In the midst of these Succession Wars, it is a dangerous and lucrative time to be a Mercenary.
THE STORY
As the inheritor of a once-glorious Mercenary company, reborn in the flames of its near destruction at the hands of conspiring factions, your quest for glory and revenge will stretch years and light-years as you chase threads of interstellar intrigue in your journey to become an elite MechWarrior and mercenary commander.
BATTLEMECHS
With over fifty unique ‘Mech chassis and hundreds of sub-variants, all fully-realized with high-fidelity models, damage states, and equipment, no two ‘Mechs are the same.

GAMEPLAY
The battlefields of the future are dominated by BattleMechs, hulking machines of war capable of leveling entire cities. As a BattleMech pilot you’ll rain havoc upon enemy ‘Mechs and targets, including tanks, ground vehicles, aircraft, advanced defenses, and reinforced bases.
Few things can withstand the power of a ‘Mech for long, and the worlds of the Inner Sphere are veritable playgrounds of destruction awaiting your shielding defense or crushing devastation.
THE INNER SPHERE
Containing thousands of star systems and an array of unique biomes, the Inner Sphere is alive with activity, purpose, consequence, and variety. Systems will be captured and reclaimed, major events will unfold, and new technologies will be introduced.
The rigors of war will be seen with each passing week as your relationships with the various factions fluctuate according to the relentless Succession Wars and your choices as the leader of a Mercenary outfit.

Taking out all of a mechs weapons will cause the pilot to bail. This also gives a good chance of salvage.

I like doing that in my marauder. Get real close and personal before shoving my ppc in their mouth.

In this game, oddly enough, coring a mech does not prevent you from salvaging it and if anything, makes repairing it quite fast and easy, as you don't have to spend millions of dollars and many months replacing all the arms and weapons. I will note that going through the back is very misleading. If you have a large volley size, it makes a lot of sense. You just kill stuff quicker. but if you are going to have to go through the front anyways, because an opponent is very tough... .you will have to take off the front armor anyways. applying rear torso damage just INCREASES the net amount of armor the mech has. this is especially true for the CT, as in this game, I haven't really noticed any reduced functionality of the enemy mech. Shooting the back of a side torso can make a lot of sense to try and crit a weapon, but I find I often hold my shots until I can be in front of a lot of my targets in a light mech, or fire at an arm instead (that you can continue to apply damage to as the mech turns to face you in response and as your weapons come back off cooldown). Rear damage is often wasted damage, when any incremental damage is being applied to a zero armor facing: no mech dies before it's armor fails. Side damage, on the other hand, is great. side damage makes it easy to miss the close side leg, and hit the far side leg as a consolation prize, and also lets you get at powerful arm weapons, which are dangerous to you if you are trying to evade shots as a form of mitigation. Side damage can be wasted damage against some mechs, mainly slower, heavier mechs with a shield arm, but most of the time it's a good shot that also allows you to avoid return fire while you apply your dps. Also, I feel people are sleeping on large lasers. They are crazy good in this game, due to how many really dangerous turrets, tanks, and aircraft there are. Being able to shoot an enemy SRM carrier or VTOL before it can shoot back is very valuable, and the weight is nowhere near as bad as a lot of the more traditional "sniper" weapons. I feel that this game is different from MWO in that the burn time of lasers is not applicable to nearly as many situations, and a lot of the time, when you peek over a ridge, there actaully are people, in the open, to shoot at. And so 5-10 tons of large lasers is a very low cost part of a loadout that really changes your capabilities.

Some weapons is very good vs it. Like LRM 10, ML. Youneed just one mech for this purpose and switch on it when necessary.

Random I know, but if anyone is having massive frame drops and you use Geforce experience, it defaults to 4k DSR resolution. I changed it to 1440p in the app and now the drops are minimal. Just saying. Hopefully it helps someone, because I have a 2080Ti and was like WTF with the drops I was getting.

Just got the game now that it's on steam! Nice spread of tip stuff good for pl new to MW others for people how haven't played since MW3 like me. I tried Solaris7 for a little beat as I waited for Steam version but didn't care for it too much. So I'm defiantly rusty, though BattleTech was very nice and helped fill that mech itch. Think there is a cream for that now.

Bots intend to smash exactly the player's mech. You can use it to kite the enemy on some LRM Locust. They will pursue you almoast ignoring your allies. Another use - engage with mid range big mech, then switch to SRM light one. SRM light is squishy, but being obnoticed it has firepower of heavy one and can easily manage distance.

Disagree with 3rd person view. It is really helpfull when you pilot fast light mech to avoid obstacles and also for better circling around target, this way you can see both, target and surroundings and that is crucial.

@@MrGPlays early in the game this mech is unstoppable (if you know how to play him) in any mission type, the power of the mech is slowly drifting away as the campaign progress because there are more heavy and assault mechs but in demolition missions it can be still effective, i will see.

I can't speak for other people's game playthroughs but legging almost never gives salvage in my game. Same with coring. Headshots are even 50/50. I've had a lancemate compliment me on a headshot in game and I was happy as I was sure I'd have salvage waiting for me. Salvage screen came up and no mech salvage :(
