00:02 Mechanical Properties of Solids One Shot 02:12 This chapter discusses the mechanical properties of elastic bodies. 06:42 Elasticity is the property of an object to regain its original shape and size. 08:51 Understanding the concept of elastic limit 13:12 Rubber chair is better than steel chair in resisting deformation 15:19 Stress is the force per unit area applied to solid bodies. 21:53 Different types of stress in solids 25:35 Hydrostatic stress changes the volume of the material. 27:20 Mechanical Properties of Solids 32:52 Understanding the impact of dimension change on mechanical properties 36:55 Volume metric strain and tangential shear strain 39:03 Shear strain is the deflection produced per unit length. 43:34 Understanding Hook's Law and its modifications 45:50 Hooke's Law explains the proportional relationship between stress and strain. 56:22 Young's Modulus is a type of modulus of elasticity. 58:29 Young's modulus and bulk modulus are explained with their respective formulas and units. 1:02:44 Understanding stress and strain graphs 1:04:55 Stress and strain are directly proportional on a straight line graph. 1:09:15 Understanding the transition from elastic to plastic behavior in materials. 1:11:19 Plastic behavior indicates the object will not restore its shape once the deforming force is removed. 1:21:27 Importance of understanding the weight limit and safety measures of a lift 1:23:02 Importance of understanding elasticity in machinery and construction 1:27:16 The formula for potential energy in terms of stress and strain 1:29:13 Poisson's ratio explains the relationship between lateral strain and longitudinal strain.

sir ek doubt tha plsss clear it!! sir volumetric strain me ( -delta V/V) nahi hoga? kyuki for example ager hum koi object pani me dalte h tab water k molecules vo object pe pressure lagayenge aur uska dimention kam ho jaye ga original dimension se toh sir uska jo final dimension aayega vo original dimension se kam hoga toh sir uska jo final dimention h minus jo intial dimension tha vo value toh negative me aayegi na?? therefore Volumetric Strain ka formula = (-delta V/ V) hoga na sir???
