Mechanical Aptitude Test Solved & Explained | Mechanical Comprehension Test |

Hello Every body! Hope that you will be perfect. This video is about Mechanical Aptitude Test or Mechanical Comprehension Test which is very important in issb or any other test. The main purpose of MAT is to check the technical mind of a candidates which is based on your daily life experience and observations. This test is easy but all you need is to manage your time there is no time to think just write the answers with in seconds if you late you will miss other questions which may be easy.Do one thing while attempting MAT if you find a question which is time consuming and you don't know about it just leave the question and go for the next.If you attempt it wrong there will be negative marking and you will loose what you know.Hope that you got understood after watching this video in which i have tried to explain you each and everything with examples.
If you find any question about any part of ISSB feel free to ask in comments i will guide you as much as i can.
Thanks for watching.

Answer to question#7 is A, Explanation: The man in B is pulling 25 lbs of weight due to more mechanical advantage while the man in A is pulling 50 lbs of weight with less mechanical advantage. So, Man A is pulling harder.

According to your explanation bridge A has a lot of steel in the middle of the span but in picture it shows B has a lot of steel in the middle of the span. It this case B is weaker than A.

I have to admit I disagree with a couple of the answers here. For instance I believe the answer to question 9 is B. In B, the man's wall mounted pulley only changes the direction of his pulling. It could just as well be removed and have him pulling towards the wall instead of away. His force will be transmitted and pull on the cart pulley and also pull on the wall anchor (which also pulls on the cart pulley), meaning this system will double the man's strength. In example A, he's pulling on the cart pulley towards the wall, then the force is transmitted through the pulley on the wall to pull on the cart again and also transmitted through the pulley on the cart to pull on the wall tether, which also pulls on the cart. This system will triple the man's strength, meaning he has to work harder on system B (which only doubles his strength). Again you can check this. Define the rope (from his hands' position to the tether) as 3 units long, and start the cart 1.5 units from the wall. In example A start the man by the cart and have him pull towards the wall, walking 1.5 units. There will now be 3 equal segments of rope 1 unit long which means the cart will move 0.5 units towards the wall when the man walks 1.5 units, meaning the distance is 1/3 and the force must be tripled. In B if you have the man start by the wall and pull towards the cart, by the time you have 3 equal length 1 unit segments of rope, the man will have only walked 1 unit away from the wall and the cart will have come to meet him by moving 0.5 units towards the wall. The distance the cart moves is 1/2 the man thus his force has only doubled. I will admit I needed longer than 15 seconds to work this out. The answer to question 10 is indeed B, but it isn't to do with the length of a moment arm. It is to do with how parallel the pulling force is with the ground. The effective pulling force will be multiplied by the cosine of the angle to the ground. Whilst the lifting effect will reduce the rolling resistance slightly, this is negligible compared to the horizontal component reduction in the force. With the longer rope, a greater proportion of his force is in the horizontal component.

its the same number of changes in direction for both models. The way i was taught its about the mechanical advantage by the changes in direction. Both have a mechanical advantage of 3:1. I think you may be trying to over complicate it.

@@reidcarlson7623 I thought that with the fixed pulley (B), you don't count the rope being pulled on, but with moveable pulleys (A, as the rope is fixed to the load) then you do count it

Can someone explain to me the last one (I'm a non mechanical mind; I got it right but the explanation doesn't have enough explanation to it for me, probably because I've never had mechanical classes). What is "long moment arm" and how does it "reduce force?"

Its similar to a class 1 lever, the fuclrum is where the lever meets the dolley, so a longer lever will make it easier to move the load.

Pick two stick from broom stack, break the second one. Now use the half one to move a little stone, at the same time use the full one to use equal weight of stone. The short sticks moves without bending The long likely bends a little b4 moving the stone, meaning some force are lost due to that torque
