Measuring Prop To Pad On A Bass Boat!
Ойын-сауық
In this video, I share a great tip to increase the performance of your bass boat. Always verify your “prop to pad” measurement before purchasing a new prop. There’s a chance a new prop isn't the issue. You may just need to raise or lower your outboard motor. A 3 1/2” prop to pad measurement is the industry standard. In my case, the motor will have to be raised by one inch. Enjoy!

Just raise the jack plate. You don't have to move the motor.

Same result . However, the motor wasn't originally mounted in the center hole. So, now the motor is better balanced onto the jackplate compared to its previous location. Thanks for watching!

Great video! I need to see if the standard applies to bay boats?

Glad you liked the video! I'm not sure about bay boats. I've never worked on them. Thanks for watching!
Is that a 20 or 25” shaft??

I think it's a 20" shaft. You have to measure from the base of the water pump to the top of the shaft. Thanks for watching!!
The prop shaft should at least be even with the pad, with the right prop, with the set back you have shouldn’t have trouble getting water
why did you switch boats through the video

I didn't. I performed the math calculation in front of my brother's Champion boat. Thanks for watching!
