Hi guys. I did the fiddling around Tayler suggested and behind the measure tool is the area tool and with the area tool you can measure the curved line.

Do you know how to measure the ACTUAL curve length rather than the height and width? It would be amazing to know curve lengths on patterns. Loved the video :-)

Exactly, this isn't measuring a curve. Measuring curves is so important in pattern making, I hope there is an actual way of doing this. Because I saw a comment on someone else's video that it isn't yet possible in Affinity Designer, which is why I was so happy to see the title of this video. I hope some one watching doesn't mistaken this for measuring the curve.

Hi Leanda, sorry its taken me a little while to get back to you. Unfortunately as stated on my previous videos, I am by no means an expert in affinity designer and am still learning myself, I just like to share what I know with others. I know quite a few people have raised this issue with affinity designer, and its obviously something we all hope they will add in future updates. Fingers crossed it gets added on soon. In the meantime I thought I would show on this video, the best option we have for now. I appreciate you taking the time to watch my videos.

Hi Nusaibah, Please refer to my response to Leanda on this matter, I also appreciate that you may think this video is slightly misleading but the person who requested this video commented that it did actually help them a lot, I am sorry if you don't feel the same way. I appreciate you taking the time to check out my videos and I hope you have a great day!

@@taylerfaye Hi, I have been a while getting back to you as well. I just saw your newer video on measuring lines and curves and hoped you didn't feel that my comment was in any way rude. It was simply a question seeking an answer and made it clear that I appreciated your video. It's so fantastic that they've finally given us a better option. All the best with your helpful videos.

Hey Tayler! Can you show us how to import an image of a hand-drawn pattern and then trace it in Affinity in order to digitize the pattern?
